samhexum Posted July 7 Posted July 7 SOMEONE STOLE MY BRILLO PADS!!! On the night of 7/3 I placed a Walmart order for pickup that I will be getting tomorrow. On the morning of 7/4 I got an email saying that my box of 10 great value Brillo pads hadn't been available for pick up but they could deliver it to me that day if I wanted or I could just have a refund. I figured, let them deliver, which they did that night. They left it by the mailboxes. Since it cost a whopping $1.45 including taxes I felt in no need to rush downstairs and get it. I finally went down to get the mail today and guess what? That's $1.45 I'll never see again! Becket and soloyo215 1 1
samhexum Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 Well, to be fair, they didn't know what was in the box . I really hope they have a dishwasher and haven't used a Brillo pad in years.
BuffaloKyle Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I don't know where you live but since it was delivered on July 4th at night there might have been hooligans walking around that swiped the box. samhexum 1
samhexum Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 BUT... after just getting a text that my new shopping cart had arrived, I started to throw my clothes back on so I could go downstairs to get it when there was a knock at my door because the driver had brought it upstairs to me. Becket 1

Apartment building... I let the superintendent know, I've asked him to be on the lookout for my missing property. I told him I'm devastated! I hope he gets my sarcasm. BuffaloKyle and soloyo215 1 1
+ Just Chuck Posted July 7 Posted July 7 The fundamentals of criminal investigation are: motive, means, and opportunity. Top suspects are clean freaks, capable of lifting a package weighing 1/8th of a pound, and who happened to be in your vicinity during that timeframe. samhexum, soloyo215, robot_blitzcrank and 2 others 1 4
samhexum Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 You know I just called Walmart and told them that my preset instructions for deliveries are that I'm disabled and it's hard for me to walk so please bring the package upstairs, and I mentioned that I said that to the delivery person over the intercom (although I don't know if she could hear me) And I also said that I couldn't get downstairs until the next morning (which ain't exactly the truth), and long story not short, my $1.45 refund is in the works. soloyo215 and wsc 2

I've always had multiple shopping carts-for shopping, laundry, garbage. As they have worn out, I've had to replace them. Last year, I ordered a large one and had it sent to my sister's house so my brother-in-law could put it together for me. It was too big and unwieldy and twice when I had it loaded up, it tipped over and I fell on top of it. A week after the second time that happened one of the wheels fell off, and I had to throw it away. I ordered one and had it sent to my house months ago; it's useful, but too small. The last decent full size one I had died a few weeks ago so, like a modern day Goldilocks, I ordered another one from Walmart that would be neither too big nor too small. It arrived July 7, and I shocked myself by actually starting to put it together about 2AM, so less than six months after I actually got the thing (which is my usual normal). Anyhoo... without further ado... I was sitting on the floor starting to assemble things, and I thought I was missing a washer, but it turned out I was sitting on it. however, I only had one cotter pin, which hold the back wheels on, so you need two. I called Walmart at close to 3 AM, got past the AI assistant, and spoke to the usual person with a very heavy Indian accent. I explained the situation and said I'm disabled and it's difficult for me to get around so I don't want to return it, but could they just send me the missing piece? He put me on hold for about a minute while he looked into the matter then came back on the line and said I've initiated a full refund of $63.14 to you because the item was damaged with missing parts. You can just throw it away. I knew that I had some spare parts that came with the big one and the small one, but I thought I had used all of the cotter pins trying to repair the last full sized cart that I had a couple of times before it died. You'll never guess what I found! TWO cotter pins! Anyhoo again... After all that (and not really having been in the mood to assemble the thing anyway) I put my free cart aside (meaning shoved it off to a different part of the floor) and will do it at some point over the (or some) weekend. Then I got the email asking me to rate my call with the rep but never got the email saying we've initiated a refund so I called back at 4 AM and got another rep who checked and said that while the first rep thought he had initiated the refund he hadn't, but the second one did and I've gotten the email saying that the refund is in the works.
