maninsoma Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I'm curious as to how/why this happens. I prefer dark mode and every once in a while there are posts where the only way I can read what was written is to change to light mode or to highlight the entire posts which sort of makes the post legible. I assume this is related to a choice made by certain posters but I don't see anywhere that someone can force the site to use black text even if the reader is using dark mode. Here's an example of a thread where this is happening for me. The first post is illegible in dark mode but the subsequent posts are legible, and if I switch to light mode the first post looks like the following posts (black text on white background).
mike carey Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago This comes up regularly. The most likely cause is text pasted into a thread rather than text that's typed in. It would take malice aforethought to override the default settings to that extent when typing a comment. It happens in both light and dark mode, but those of us on the dark side are more likely to see it because more people both post and see their posts in light mode. I commented on this a couple of weeks ago. Basically, if you're reading there's nothing you can do except change modes for that comment. maninsoma 1
Minneapolis Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I did use Chat GPT to help me write my post. I was running on with train of thoughts and I just had Chat GPT create a better version. Then I cut and pasted the post. This could be the culprit.
