For those not in the know, it's a Game of Thrones prequel. I'm just starting Episode 2, and in the first scene an elderly gent steps out naked to do his business. He has one of the largest flaccid tallywackers I've ever seen  I wonder if it's real, or if it's Memorex....errr I mean a prosthetic. Anyone with HBO or HBO plus with an opinion on whether the guy is actually that blessed?

I can't imagine it's real. The character in question is Ser Alan Pennytree, the knight that mentored the main character, Ser Duncan.

Only two episodes in but both episodes have started with something explicit like this; will this trend carry on for the whole series?

The designer of the prosthetic "member" has discussed its creation in interviews and acknowledged the team who assisted in its creation.  He also discussed the incorporation of a tube that went down the actor's leg to accomplish the  urination part of the scene.

By the end of episode 5 Pennytree and Duncan are on competing jousting teams and are in love and on their way to a scenic cottage.
