Saw this the other day… here are some of my thoughts (as someone who is an “arts person” but not really a “film person”):

-It’s technically a great movie, sure to be nominated for multiple awards.

-Kate Hudson is a FANTASTIC singer!

-Hugh Jackman is hot af even when made to look frumpy.

-I usually don’t like child actors, but the young man who played Hudson’s character’s son was phenomenal.

-My only criticism of the film as a work of art is that the timeline is not at all clear (the events seemed to take place over 2-3 years in the mid 90s; the events the movie is based on actually took place from 1989-2006).

-It is NOT the feel-good movie that was advertised… maybe the first third of the film but definitely not as a whole, in terms of tone or content.

* "Song Sung Blue," which just earned Kate Hudson an Oscar nomination for best lead actress, will make its streaming debut this Friday, February 13 on Peacock.

 

"Wicked: For Good" will debut on Peacock on March 20 The streaming version will come with an exclusive full-length commentary from director Jon M. Chu, two new behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a sing-along option.
