+ Gar1eth Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I'll admit I'm Santa-figured, and you can't see mine. That might be natural. But mine wasn't visible even when I was skinnier as a teenager or young man. Along with that my voice is on the higher side. I even have trouble intentionally speaking in a low (as in tone not volume ) voice. Come to think of it, I may have trouble speaking in a low volume too. I'm told my voice carries. Add in a bit of hearing loss, and well, you can guess the result. 😝 But what says the Message Center-how's your Apple -prominent or not-and speaking voice-low or high?
CuriousByNature Posted October 15 Posted October 15 No visible Adam's Apple here, lowish and mellow toned voice. + Gar1eth 1
Nightowl Posted October 18 Posted October 18 I have a thin neck and my Adams apple is prominent enough to make it necessary for me to shave very carefully. My speaking voice is neither high nor low though when I hear my own voice recorded, it’s higher than I’d like ☹️.

I think I was watching some reel on YouTube or Facebook with Andrew Garfield. He has a prominent Adam's Apple. I've always been a bit self-conscious about my lack of a visible one and about having a higher voice. Part of that may tie into the "Gay Voice" question. But even without that tying into it, I'm still a little self-conscious. I mean even at 64, I'm still occasionally mistaken for female over the phone. It doesn't happen very often. But it's still disconcerting when it does. If my voice were a stereotypical deeper male voice, that wouldn't happen. Edited October 18 by Gar1eth
