I have 2 that I like:

1 uses a  ham hock, it seems like the most common kind

the other is a kind of stew with apples

I would like to find a differnet  one.  do you like a lentil soup recipe that is very different from these?  I do not really enjoy curry so something else would be nice.  thank you.

Check out Molly Katzen's web site.   I love her original Moosewood Cookbook recipe (which may be on the site; if not, google it) and there is one called something like "Lentil Soup with a Hint of Fruit" on the web site.

If you want a deeper umami with a vegetarian recipe, add tomato paste at the end of the aromatics sauté (onions, garlic) and let it darken in the pan, stirring constantly, before adding any other liquid. I do it almost every time I use the paste in soups and sauces and the payoff is especially great when the right meat is not within reach.

And haven't we all been there?
