HBO, Looking

I just watched Looking on HBO.  They streamed it again for Pride. 

I like how S1 starts and S2 ends.  Richie flirts with Patrick on the bus (after Patrick just had anonymous sex); Richie gives Patrick a haircut (after Patrick dumps Kevin) as the camera pans out from the shop.

They aren't streaming the movie.

I see an old thread.  A lot of people didn't care for Looking.  It worked for me.

I did the same with Queer as Folk on Showtime. What you said above is how I feel about QaF. It has some nice parts.

A singular highlight of the series is the uber-credible “gay and his gal” friendship between Dom and Doris, portrayed by Murray Bartlett (White Lotus) and Lauren Weedman (Hacks).

I’m too backlogged on other platforms to sign up this year, but I hope HBO re-offers it every Pride month.  Russell Tovey blew me away with his performance in that final scene with Jonathan Groff.  I’ve watched that clip on YT a half-dozen times, am left damn impressed every single time.  Plus there’s the bonus of Scott Bakula, still scorching hot at ~60yo.  Even though I had seen just a few clips, I was left a bit baffled by how negative the reception was on the forum because (most of) the actors were fantastic.  But I’ll have to watch the whole series before I can make any claims.

The movie is available to stream on Max. Watched this weekend.

Lauren Weedman is a private chef in Sirens (Netflix). I think the series was already touched upon in this subforum.
