Tonyko Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Can you find that obituary? I've seen one, and as is standard in such death notices, it lists the children and their spouses but does not give their ages. It would be odd to include the ages of surviving children in an obit. This wasn't an obit it was a death notice about the father his job or former job in (as I'm sure you know what Country) I'll see if the friend who showed me can send to me it was a while ago. The ONLY reason I even remember is bc I was so surprised I'd had the order wrong and it was also where I first read where they were born etc. (and this mentioned no spouses)

irfy Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Yes I've seen this before. But it's NOT what I saw in an (unrelated to their careers of course) newspaper article announcing the death of their father. (again, unrelated to THEM, just an ordinary Death notice in a local paper listing surviving sons and ages) HAL was oldest and first. (using his real name of course) His real name begins with a H as well, he's the youngest.
Bayareabomber38 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 (edited) There are a lot of old photos of them on the internet as kids. Shane is clearly the eldest and Hal is clearly the youngest. Edited May 27, 2020 by Bayareabomber38 former lurker 1
myophile Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 A death notice is generally referred to as an obituary. If you perceive a difference, please explain. Thanks. A death notice is a short paid announcement covering just the basics of name, age, family, etc., grouped in a column with other such. An obituary is a longer and more formal “news item,” including fuller biographical details, such as education, accomplishments, and career, generally for somebody of local or national prominence. They are, or should be, quite distinct and specific terms.

Generally, the initial "notice" is an obituary containing the details you site. There are less descriptive "notices" that are published as part of probating the estate. Those notices run in a newspaper acceptable to the Court and give the basic details of the deceased name, county of residence, and the filing of the probate documents to alert creditors to the death and the estate proceedings.

I should add that the obituary generally precedes any funeral/burial/wake or shiva, and notifies people of the time, date and location of the memorial arrangements. The "death notice" is focused on providing just the information necessary for creditors to identify the decedent and the venue for filing claims against the estate or the means of containing the executor/personal representative of the estate.
+ Axiom2001 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 I enjoyed perusing the list of men (in porn) who have been seen in the arena of escorting and in the company of some fellow board members. For me, my experiences have been minimal, to say the least, but I am elated in having been able to cite a few names. Tyger Hudson and Jake D (SF/NY) were both stellar. Allen Silver, Jeremy Walker, and Sean Xavier did not live up to what I'd anticipated. These three left me completely unsatisfied. ...have since learned that one man's positive experience does NOT mean that another's will be the same or similar. There is one porn star of years past who lived in San Francisco and moved to Australia with his partner/lover and whose name has definitely escaped me gave me a solid time. He was wonderful and truly enjoyed the nip play that I provided. The words that he left, still at times, resonate with me. + bashful 1
+ JEC Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Sean Xavier did not live up to what I'd anticipated. ...........amazing, he was one of my best, ever ? ? ?

Your local paper may do things diffrently, but the definitions I cite are the ones used by the NY Times (for instance), and I believe are standard. I run a membership organization, and have to contribute to or compose several of these a year.

tsgarp Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I would give ANYTHING to meet with Reno Gold!!! That can easily be arranged...
former lurker Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 From instagram, looks like he is in Miami? There are at least two Jake Andrews who did gay porn. The earlier guy was brown-haired, the more recent blond haired. The blond Jake Andrews did stuff for Randy Blue then some studios, including Lucas Entertainment. He's got a twitter account and an OF. Per his twitter, he's in Miami. He's lived all over the U.S., including on the West Coast, NYC, and now Miami. Lee_jeff 1
hwic04 Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 I contacted reno gold a couple of months ago. He said then that he was no longer meeting fans in person but rather offering private video meetings. Perhaps he’s seeing guys in person again? I’d like to know as well. But I’m hearing from more than one poster here that he is asking $1,000. If he’s available again - and for substantially less than 1k - please PM me.

Would probably fork over the extra 300 for an in person meeting. broNextDoor22 1

former lurker Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Do you happen to know whether the blond Jake Andrews has done escort or is doing the escort now? Here's a thread talking about the two Jakes. https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/90s-jake-andrews-versus-millennial-jake-andrews-who-would-you-take-to-bed.104471/page-2 One post recalls the new/blond Jake had an ad in the Rentboy days. My recollection is that he advertised periodically, but wasn't fully committed to escorting.
