I'm not interested in spa, casino, gym, etc. Just a decent room walking distance to shows. I'm seeing hotels that charge about $100 a night but I suppose there are issues with them? My aunt stayed at The Linq recently, said the room was fine. It’s in a fairly central location. Lower rates can be found at the Flamingo and Horseshoe as well, but some of their rooms are seriously showing their age whereas I think all the rooms at the Linq are at least new-ish.
+ azdr0710 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Don't forget about the now-common resort fees at most properties! On weekdays (lower room rates), the resort fee can be higher than the room rate! CuriousByNature, Johnrom and + Lucky 1 1 1
ShortCutie7 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Vegas was my favorite place in the world when I was a child! I haven’t been in ages, but we used to stay at MGM and Caesar’s which weren’t expensive at the time.

My friends like the Flamingo or the Horseshoe (formerly Bally's), because they are both center Strip but not as expensive as Bellagio, Wynn, etc.. Las Vegas is famous for inexpensive hotels that are nicer than those in most other cities. $100/night mid-week with no convention in town isn't unheard of, but expect to pay "Resort Fees" of at least $50 additional per night. "Resort Fees" originated in Las Vegas as a way to keep the advertised hotel rates artificially low. + azdr0710 1

Strat, Circus Circus, Luxor, LINQ and off-strip, the Rio. Decent is subjective, but all mentioned can be had for under $100 on many nights. + Vegas_Millennial 1
CuriousByNature Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I've stayed at the Flamingo more than once, but the last time was just as the pandemic started. I stayed mid-week, and I think it was about $55 + around $30 for the resort fee, in US dollars. Which seemed like about $18,000 Canadian... lol. + Vegas_Millennial 1

The Rio looks close to the Strip, but it’s actually more than a mile to the intersection of Flamingo & Las Vegas Boulevard. Luxor’s location isn’t bad (free shuttle to Mandalay & Excalibur, which puts you at the intersection of Tropicana & LVB). The Linq has the best location of the ones mentioned. + Vegas_Millennial and + BenjaminNicholas 1 1

Something about the vibe I just love. Since it opened just over a year ago, everything is still real spiffy. But if he can walk or Uber, he can stay cheaper. The closer you get to the Four Corners, the more pricey things get.
