Jimmy Carter has died.  He was 100.  RIP

I think it's very important for all of the students ... to remember the importance of peace, human rights, and love for one another, and the principles that never change in our lives. Rosalynn and I and our entire family thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

There will be two memorial services for him - one in GA and one in DC. His body will then be flown to DC for a proper state funeral (that is going to be very sad).  Then his body will be returned to GA so he can be buried next to his dear wife who died 13 months ago from dementia. No dates have been made public yet for these services.

170 months ago today, he snagged a line drive foul ball at a Major League Baseball game. I remembered the ENTIRE crowd erupting with excitement after it happened when it was shown on the news. It was in Toronto. I think if the same thing happened the other way around, most everybody in attendance wouldn't know who the person was - myself included!
