Plenty of heterosexual tourists travel to Puerto Vallarta as well; although, they tend to stay in their timeshare or all-inclusive resort and especially don't venture out to the Romantic Zone. If a co-worker sees your boarding pass to PVR airport, it won't "out" you. If she sees your ticket to one of the PV Gay Wet'N'Wild party cruises, on the other hand, then she will probably figure it out. Colton and pubic_assistance 1 1

kingsley88 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I concur that telling coworkers you're going to Puerto Vallarta won't out you. I live in NYC area and going to BCN takes roughly the same time as going to PVR. Between the two, I like both in different ways. It's easier to work remote in PVR given the time difference with USA. However, for a more relaxed stay, I say go to Sitges. My local friends in Spain tells me that Sitges is becoming more expensive nowadays and if you want a cheaper and more local feel, go to Torremolinos near Malaga, Spain. + Vegas_Millennial 1

I'd also recommend Merida, Guanajuato, Isla Holbox, Morelia, La Paz and Monterrey. The food scene in Oaxaca is insane. Absolutely worth visiting just to eat three meals a day. Off to Oaxaca for my first time next week. Looking forward to it. Have my restaurants organized and a couple of tours set-up, one involving a tour of a mezcal palenques. + BenjaminNicholas 1

If they offer you pulque, do be careful how much you end up drinking. For most first-timers, it tends to have a colon cleansing effect.
