+ BobPS Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) Anyone on here live in or near Seminole Florida? I have family there and I’ve not been able to reach them to see how they are coping, coped with Helene.TYIA Update: they texted back. They are on high ground, dry and safe. They had pretty serious wind although Helene never got closer than 100 miles. Just a messy yard and pool to clean up and as they said, that’s OK. First world problems. jeezifonly Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Probably some Appalachian boys and men here. Just sending good wishes if you and/or yours have been among those upended or harmed. 🙏🏻 + BobPS and thomas 2
+ PhileasFogg Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 The stories I’m hearing from friends and acquaintances in the East Tn/Western NC are harrowing. I know the focus is on Asheville (a remarkably beautiful small city) but the impact in some of the smaller/rural areas is beyond description. i suspect that this event will rewrite the flood maps and will also redefine for many what “flash flood warning” means. + sync, + BobPS, BSR and 1 other 1 2 1
