White could have used that title for ANY of his many, many books! LOL

I went to a book signing of his, shortly after moving to NYC. When he signed my book, he included his phone number. Not that I was special… the man was (is) a true slut at heart. It’s what I love about him.

You are right!  Years ago I emailed him after a book signing here in LA, included my SF Chronicle article, and mentioned something he and I had talked about as he signed my, oddball, book (The King of Naples) the night before.  I don't think he would mind me posting his response :-) "thanks for writing rod--gosh if i'd known i would have hired you! feeling horny and lonely. thanks for sending me your great essay. care edmund"   He called my Brokeback Mountain essay great!  Gush :-)

Fancy seeing this. I met Edmund years ago at a party—I can’t remember where. This was before his first stroke, and we spoke a lot about Paris, which he missed deeply. He’s a very interesting man, to say the least.

This book is so true to who he is—candid, reflective, and unflinchingly honest. The way he writes about love, longing, and connection is raw and often uncomfortable, but that’s exactly what makes it so powerful.
