That used to bug me too until I realized both clubs are Johnsons (plural of Johnson which is slang for penis) and not Johnson's (possessive signifying belonging to someone named Johnson).  Just some not so subtle wordplay, I guess, like Floppy Rooster (rooster = cock) and Swinging Richards (Richard = Dick).

Johnsons makes sense. My point is that that particular version is inconsistently delineated within their own branding. More lack of attention to detail than wilting manners.

Owner Matt Colunga posted on FB that the Johnson's page disappeared one day without notice or warning. Their IG is alive and well.

Never been to Johnsons Tampa.  Will give it a try.  NOT a fan of Johnsons Lauderdale.  I've given it multiple shots but in my opinion it's poorly run.  I am not retirement age and have gone for my Bday.  Happy to tip along the rail.  Tried flagging guys down multiple times when they walk by.  Have singles out making it apparent I'm ready to mix in mingle but no they ignore me and go straight for the 60+ year olds.  No offense to anyone of that age, just sharing my experience.  

The last time I went they let too many women in and long story made short they caused problems, knocked drinks over, one passed out on the couch next to me threw up.  Asked the sever multiple times for help and security.  No security ever came.  Yelled at the DJ who then could see and smell the mess.  No one ever came and it go tracked everywhere.  Manager who was at the door refused to give any money back and eventually got me a new drink to make up for the issue.  He explained everyone's contractor so they don't take responsibility outside of their dancing.  I just go to Le Boy ad Boardwalk now.  Boardwalk is finally getting a lot of good looking guys again and is very good for after-hours 2am-4am

I go to the Tampa club quite often. Different vibe than Ft. Lauderdale. Good mix of guys. The VIP section is upstairs with it's own bar. Women are few downstairs. Women are not permitted upstairs. Very friendly bartenders and some Very Sexy Men.

I agree with everything Poppie said above. I also get there often and I feel the club is very well run.

A lot of guys will tip a dollar or two when the dancers are on stage and I've noticed some dancers are definitely better about showing appreciation for tips while on stage & when they come down. If I'm interested in a new guy, I'll tip $5 and say something like, "What's your name?" and then, "Come see me when you get a chance."

As a regular at Johnsons Tampa (and OK....as a 60+ year old), there are several dancers who will come right to me because they know I'll tip well while we hang out. The dancers at Johnsons are there to make money and most will spend time with you once they know you're interested and tipping.

Totally open to giving Johnsons Tampa a shot or two.  Hoping it's better than Lauderdale version.  Really miss the Swinging Richards and Floppy Rooster days......
