Bone Island Gay Nudist Festival in Key West

Howdy y'all, 

By pure coincidence, I'm going to be in Key West for vacation while the Bone Island Nudist Festival is going on. I love being naked so it sounds right up my alley. 

Does anyone have any experience, observations, and/or tips they'd like to share?

I don't go anymore, but the event was created (along with 'Tropical Heat') to try to jazz things up during the slow season.  Bone Island was the one thing that really took off.

Two of the bars (Saloon One and Bourbon Pub) tend to blackout the front windows, set up a clothes check and limit entrance to men only.  In the past, Bourbon had a pretty naughty foam party out by their pool.

By the end of the night, it's less an event and more of an orgy.  

Looking at the current schedule, it looks like they've expanded to more bars, naked shopping experience and are chartering a Fury catamaran for getting naked on the water.

Are you staying at Island House?  You'll be in the epicenter if so.

Bring a wallet you can velcro to your arm or leg (or a bulldog harness also works).

It's gonna be humid and hot.  I recommend a small hand towel with you, good socks to catch sweat and a pair of comfy shoes.  Flip flops seem great, until you're drunk, sliding around in them and then end up barefoot on Duval.

Not that that's ever happened to me

Been there, done that.

I’ll see your drunk flip flopless feet on Duvall and raise you a pair of soaked jeans from "falling" into the pool at Bourbon Street just to flirt with a cute dude. It all seemed like a good idea at the time. Now there’s a shirtless, drunken, cold, wet, barefoot, walk of shame home back to the Island House that I’ll never forget. It still brings a smile to my face. 

And yes, my first (of many) trips to Key West was inspired by you @BenjaminNicholas.

I don't think I want to be at the epicenter. I am booked at a nearby hotel. I did sign up for the fury catamaran. So maybe I'll see some of you on board. 🤟😘

Update, sharing my experience with y'all.

This event is a lot of fun and there's not a lot of attitude. Most guys were easy going, chill,  and pretty hot. There were a few times my insecurities got the better of me but overall I had a great time. 

The boat trip was magical. It's a non-stop orgy. I left feeling very satisfied. 

I highly recommend this event.
