Now that I think about poutine, I worked as a manager of a fast food kiosk at Expo 67 in Montreal and we didn’t serve poutine. 30 years later that would have been a staple.
That was a great summer job which I had and got to go to the fair every day. Many friends worked there too that summer and we had all reached legal drinking age. There were bars all over the site and all types of cuisine from around the world. A very unique experience when the world came to Montreal. 
Each day was a national day to be celebrated and the heads of state of dozens of countries came for their day. 
Bobby Kennedy came to represent the United States.

I thought it was an Australian thing, but while it was first identified here early this century, apparently there are ticks on six continents that are linked to it. The sugar molecule that causes it is not found in primates, so presumably primate meat would not trigger an allergic reaction, but that is not particularly useful dietary information.
