RM Account deletion

Not sure if this is the right place. Wondering if and when RM fully delete all your information when you submit a request. Didn’t receive any confirmation emails, just got logged out.

Since RM is headquartered in Europe, they should be at least GDPR compliant at minimum. It's always good to look for a site's data retention policy, however.  RM does publish their policies in the "about" section, so you can refer there.  The link below relates to their data policy.

As a system admin for a variety of systems used in a different industry, I know that the inability to log in means nothing other than that user's account is no longer active.  It does not necessarily mean that all traces of that user having existed are gone.  In some systems I administer, I can delete a user.  Even then, I assume that the fact they were a user at some point is kept in the background because there is other data associated to that user that must be kept.  (For example, user X posted content Y on such-and-such date.  If you delete all traces of user X, then content Y would be orphaned and the system very well might not be able to preserve it as it wouldn't make sense without identifying the original author.)  I know Rentmen is a lot more basic than the systems I administer, but there could be reasons for Rentmen to retain information about deleted users in a back-end system.  In some systems I administer, I don't even have the option to delete users.  I can only end date or deactivate their accounts, so looking at the list of users will still show those people but in a different category than active users.

Tried. Got a message saying the account is deleted with an option to contact the webmaster for further assistance. The title of the pop up said “Undelete Request”. So I suspect it is in some sort of a soft delete state. Not sure how long it stays that way until it can’t be “un deleted”. When did you delete your account? Mine was just over 5 hrs ago. I’ll check again in a few days.

When escorts delete their account they get a notice that says: "this action can't be undone".

So ive had my account for a few years now and made some friends/buddies over the years and some have come and gone from the site. Even though they have deleted thier profile, I still have access to thier profile under "buddies". Pictures and all so when I talk to others about leaving the site I make sure they deleted all their pictures and and text first

Like you said, that wouldn't happen in a simple organizational DB. It's only when you have data duplication (e.g., the name is kept by several company products separately) that this happens. RM isn't that big.

My firm has to strictly follow GDPR (we've had customers call and threaten to sue us if we didn't delete their data right now!!!!). Their data gets disconnected with any others and their personal data and email, scrambled.

I don't know anything about GDPR because I'm not in the EU, but I assume that even there people cannot just demand that their information be removed from databases related to public safety.  Those are the kinds of systems I administer.  The only times I've been aware of successful demands to remove information is when that information is clearly wrong (e.g., someone's information gets merged with a different person's of the same or similar name, indicating that they were involved with people and activities that they weren't).
