Reading about the new laws completely confused me.  For those of you with experience, on either side of the question, what's navigating these laws like?

It's overblown and basically just a media talking point.  No change from the normal.

Maybe a small amount of extra caution is warranted in Texas, but I think the usual rules apply.

I am of the approach that knowledge is power with decision making.    The problem in some of these jurisdictions is that nothing is clear.

I would suggest caution and reason  when going forward ,  whether the law has changed or not.

The main reason for the Dallas law was to keep people from having to see streetwalkers and such, and it may not hold up in court. Staying online should be fine.

However, make sure you don't have any LE enemies. The only way you'd get hit by this is by pissing off a cop.

I worked in Dallas, Texas for two years after the felony laws went into effect. No change in hiring trends or number of providers, basically nothing changed. From what I’ve read, it may have marginally impacted the straight hiring scene moreso than m4m, but I don’t know for sure.

Houston PD has been going after this a lot recently. Part of it is media hype, part of it is sticking to street busts, and part of it is legitimate concern about human trafficking.

It has made me a little more paranoid about hiring in Houston. Sticking more closely to safe rules is definitely the way to go.
