Manet/Degas at the Met

Impressive new show at the Met bringing together two friends and sometimes rivals. Especially nice having just come from Paris and the d’Orsay where a number of works were missing. Nice to catch up with them on home turf.

Too fucking funny. I was just about to post and give you a hard time in the Orsay thread about all the incredible pieces you missed because they were on loan to The Met for this show. 

The show is amazing. In fact, one of the best I’ve seen in recent memory. And I’m not really a fan of either of the artists. The final room was especially touching. 

Glad you got to see it!

Of course, you still missed Whistler’s Mother, which is on loan to the Philadelphia Museum of Art right now…..grin.

Impressed you got some great pics. It was super crowded when I went. Next time, will have to go during Member hours.
