But, O Holy Night will be the test. I think she can do it. It's a tough note to hit.
BuffaloKyle Posted September 12, 2023 Author Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) I just found the wikipedia page for the album which says it's coming out October 20. The only song confirmed so far is the first single which is "DJ Play a Christmas Song". The album cover is horrible though. BuffaloKyle Posted September 12, 2023 Author Posted September 12, 2023 So that horrible cover is actually one of three covers. There is an Amazon exclusive cover and a Cher official store exclusive cover as well. The Amazon one is my favorite. + bashful and Marc in Calif 1 1
BuffaloKyle Posted October 7, 2023 Author Posted October 7, 2023 Here's the first song off the album "DJ Play a Christmas Song". I wish it had a little more festive melody but I liked it after a couple listens: craigville beach 1

ICTJOCK Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I’m hoping it will be well received. Clearly some challenges, but hoping it will come across well.

Ali Gator Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 (edited) Sorry, but "DJ Play a Christmas Song" is rather underwhelming. At 77, she needs to reinvent herself again. She's been 'vocoder Cher' for the past 25 years. I did enjoy her duet with Rosie O'Donnell on 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' from 'A Very Rosie Christmas' in 1997(?). I'm curious as to what this duet with Darlene Love will sound like. She does a duet with Michael Buble (yuck) - 'Home'. I'm curious as to whether that's the song from 'The Wiz' (and it it is, Diana Ross' 1978 recording has set the bar for that one). Edited October 8, 2023 by Ali Gator
BuffaloKyle Posted October 11, 2023 Author Posted October 11, 2023 (edited) Here's the track list. Sorry @bashful! No "O Holy Night". 1. DJ Play a Christmas Song 2. What Christmas Means to Me (Feat. Stevie Wonder) 3. Run Rudolph Run 4. Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) (Feat. Darlene Love) 5. Angels in the Snow 6. Home (Feat. Michael Buble) 7. Drop Top Sleigh Ride (Feat. Tyga) 8. Please Come Home for Christmas 9. I Like Christmas 10. Christmas Ain't Christmas Without You 11. Santa Baby 12. Put a Little Holiday in Your Heart (Feat. Cyndi Lauper) 13. + jeezopete Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Cher explains her upcoming Christmas album:
Ali Gator Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 She's been making more headlines this week about her involvement with her son's kidnapping last November (according to divorce documents filed by her daughter-in-law) than she has been making about her Christmas album.

She's been eligible since 1991 but has never even received a nomination. But Kate Bush gets in this year? 🤔
