Cher Releasing First Christmas Album!

No word on when exactly it's coming out but Cher will be releasing her first ever Christmas album later this year. I can't wait!

It should be good.  But, O Holy Night will be the test. I think she can do it.  It's a tough note to hit.

I just found the wikipedia page for the album which says it's coming out October 20. The only song confirmed so far is the first single which is "DJ Play a Christmas Song". The album cover is horrible though.

So that horrible cover is actually one of three covers. There is an Amazon exclusive cover and a Cher official store exclusive cover as well. The Amazon one is my favorite.

We need an emoticon for covering your ears instead of your eyes.

Normally I like old Cher performances (Sonny & Cher era) but this is painful to listen to.

Sorry, but "DJ Play a Christmas Song" is rather underwhelming. At 77, she needs to reinvent herself again. She's been 'vocoder Cher' for the past 25 years. 

 

I did enjoy her duet with Rosie O'Donnell on 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' from 'A Very Rosie Christmas' in 1997(?). I'm curious as to what this duet with Darlene Love will sound like. 

She does a duet with Michael Buble (yuck) - 'Home'. I'm curious as to whether that's the song from 'The Wiz' (and it it is, Diana Ross' 1978 recording has set the bar for that one).

I had no idea Cher wasn't in the Rock & Roll hall of fame! She's been eligible since 1991 but has never even received a nomination. But Kate Bush gets in this year? 🤔
