Guest
The sad part is that it's not complicated to escape the rip current. Just swim to the side, rather than trying to fight the current (which won't work).
+ nycman
As all of my surfer buddies say…..respect the ocean. It’s almost always middle aged tourists who have little knowledge of and zero respect for the ocean. Usually not the type that heeds any warnings. Ya know - freedumb & such same ones that didn't listen to Covid vaccines, etc Edited June 29, 2023 by SouthOfTheBorder
+ DynamicUno
If they ignored the beach flags and went out in to the water, they're flipping idiots! Going in the water if there are red or double red flags up is just asking for trouble. + jeezopete

CarolinaRen
I live on the eastern US coast. Every year we have multiple drownings due to rip currents. As was stated up thread, it's a tragedy because these people don't understand how to swim out of them.
+ nycman
Headed to the Ocean for the first morning swimming of the season. Keep me in your prayers, and know that if I die….I died happy! marylander1940
