I was just wondering... You know, there are threads and more threads... I could weave four lifetimes of proverbial clothing with all the threads on this message board. There is a lot of input and effort that has resulted in the ongoing dialogue here on Daddy's site as well as the original Hooboy site. Granted, I enjoy the reading and love the "Ask an Escort" area and "Deli area"... I often think about the time that everyone has put into this and find myself amazed. I like the reading and responding but sometimes would love to talk to people as a group in a common area. Anyone interested or think it would be helpful to have a group CHAT AREA here so that people could talk about things and interact more directly? Then have the outstanding issues and topics posted?

A couple of years back, there was a chat area here for a while. It didn't seem to me to leave quickly, and now is a different time, etc., so I think if there are enough of y'all to keep it going that it might be a good idea to start one again.

Don't look to see me posting there. Or a number of the other guys, either, IHHO. I simply cannot think in small enough sound bursts to handle a chat room as anything other than a lurker. And, judging from the size of many posts, I am not unique in that around here.

Have you noticed that BN's 15 Minutes now has a chat room at the bottom of it? I think it would be ironically very funny if someone were to use it to hire a different escort. Which may take us to the reason why a site which is careful to define an escort's pay as being for time only to the knowledge of the site would feel iffy about having a chat room which might lead to a sting operation?

You're over-analyzing things just a bit, Bilbo.

 

The chat room was dropped because the software (provided by gay.com) was flaky as hell and Hooboy got tired of the complaints.

 

I don't know of any plans, but the technology is certainly leaps and bounds better than what it was back then. (Internet culture is different today as well!) Anyone seriously interested in seeing this feature added should write to Daddy. He can't judge interest (and prioritize where to put effort) without input.

I actually added the chat function so people could communicate, bitch, connect and, yes, even find out info on other guys for hiring purposes.

 

15 Minutes isn't a way for me to gain new business. It never has been. It's simply been a way for me to enjoy writing absurdist humor, along with a little travelogue every week. Fortunately, it found a reader base. It's been fun

Deej - "overintelleluctualizing" is soemthing I'm afraid I do rather often. I even had to train myself to quit doing it while I was f**king. It's oddly good to hear that I was doing it again in this case.

 

BN - I love your writing. I'd share mine with you, but I'm afraid you wouldn't care for children's plays aimed at preKindergarten through 4th grade. And I do simply adore your Eye Candy. I haven't joined your yahoo group due to a problem with my yahoo account, which is due to my limited intelligence around computers. However, while it may not have been your main goal when you were setting up the blog, I simply cannot believe that it doesn't lead to more business for you. The only thing that has gotten me more excited about the dream of hiring you than reading it was reading that one review where you and the client were both chained by your dicks to a block of concrete in a barn out in the woods, with your wrists tied to each other and... Of course, I may have embellished it a bit in that part of me where hot fantasies are stored.

 

And I'd love to see a chat room here again. I did enjoy reading the transcripts of the interviews with various stars. I just can't talk short.

I've never seen the appeal of chat rooms per se...

 

What's said there is usually inane chatter. The same can happen in discussion boards like this one but at least there the contents can be scanned quickly and you're not limited to just those logged on at the moment. BTW BN's chat room right now has one forlorn soul who's asking every 10 minutes or so "anyone there?"

 

It hadn't occured to me that a chatroom is an ideal place for a group of folks to talk with a celeb of some sort and I actually think that would be kind of fun but then we sort of do that with some of the "men of negotiable virtue" that post on your boards already.

 

Plus I LIKE the fact that what's said on a discussion board is logged. It allows us to go back and look at earlier threads.

 

So as to chat... I'll probably try it if you line up a guest host or something but other than that I see other ways of communicating as better.
