let’s not forget American Graffiti!

Or the SVU about an entertainer who liked being around kids a bit too much, in which she played a grandma with Munchausen's Syndrome who was slowly poisoning her granddaughter.

Merman knew everyone in show business; George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Sinatra,, Irving Berlin, Mary Martin, Lucille Ball

She wanted to work, mostly on Broadway in Annie Get Your Gun, Gypsy , Girl Crazy

But she wasn't always careful  with her other choices

Please explain. I may have been in the Army then. No television.

The episode was about a Michael-Jackson-type entertainer.  One of the kids he was accused of molesting was a sick girl who lived with her grandmother.  First it came to light that granny trying to cash in on the other accusations, and then it was discovered that she had been intentionally giving the girl things to make her sick and had probably taken some years off her life.

Roz Russell would have been a better choice. She actually had a sense of humor
