+ José Soplanucas Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 Hola amigos. I am visiting the Colombian capital right now, having a great time. For those interested, my travel blog is available in this thread at Gayguides.com. This year, I am not in the mood for cutting and pasting. If you do not want to participate in the other forum, you can read my reports there and post your follow up questions and comments in this thread. By the way, if there is any lingering animosity towards the forum formerly called Boytoy, I would find it ridiculous after everything that happened. My intention is to honor the specialization of each virtual community. Here, the major topic is escorts and gayness in the United States. In Gayguides, the major topic is paid sex, traveling, and gayness around the world, out of the US. rhh33 and thomas 2
Mustang Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 What an absolute useless post. I can't decide if I dislike the puerile complaining more or the advertising to drive traffic to your rather boring and overly verbose blog. + BOZO T CLOWN, Marc in Calif and + José Soplanucas 1 1 1

With 1,300-1,400 views thus far on one topic, not nearly completed, he hardly needs the help. And that’s not counting the hordes of unregistered lurkers … um, readers … using public domain option. And now I did it too. Edited December 27, 2022 by SirBillybob Yorkynyc, Marc in Calif and + José Soplanucas 1 1 1

This is the post in my blog. me, too, I enjoyed reading your blog, and thanks to Axel's post, I now have the desire to visit Colombia. I am particularly interested in meeting Venezuelans, they are so passionate and like Brazilians comes in all the flavors and form from the mixed ones to fair-skinned ones. to the model/pretty clean-cut. They want to give you pleasure. most of them; or at least in my case, all. excellent experiences. All the Venezuelans I have met end up as regular,, My favorite provider, maybe ever, was a Venezuelan boy living in Barcelona,; he was too good to be true. I agree that Barcelona is a common destination for Venezuelans to either stop by or stay and work there for a while. Now I need to know what city, for my first time: Medellin (of course) Cartagena de Indias + José Soplanucas 1
BSR Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I’m bumping this thread now, even though I’m not going to Bogotá until the end of November. Airfare actually comes out a lot cheaper if I fly to Bogotá, then back to Las Vegas vs. flying direct MAD->LAS. @José Soplanucas, what part of the city did you stay in? I’m undecided between Zona T/Rosa and La Candelaria. Zona T seems to be modern hustle & bustle while La Candelaria is the historic district. I’m leaning toward La Candelaria but wanted to hear your take.
corndog Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I currently like to stay near Parque de la 93. It's an upscale neighborhood and feels very safe day or night. There are lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. On my first trip to Bogota, I strived to stay near the gay bars, but I quickly learned that was not the best strategy. In that part of town, things vary widely from block to block, and some areas are pretty sketchy. Ubers are amazingly cheap in Bogota, just $2-3 to go clear across town, so it isn't so important to stay close to the action. + claym and BSR 2

I would not go to La Candelaria either. Picturesque, but too touristic during the day and I am unsure about what is going on there at night, it may be unsafe. Zona T and anything north of Chapinero is lovely. Edited June 8 by José Soplanucas thomas, corndog and BSR 1 2
BSR Posted June 8 Posted June 8 (edited) Thank you both @corndog and @José Soplanucas. Once I book my flight, I'll reserve an Airbnb in Zona T/Rosa (they appear to be almost the same location, not sure what the difference is). Because I plan on staying 6 days, I’d rather go with an Airbnb vs. a standard hotel room. Not sure I’ll end up using the kitchen and washer/dryer, but it’ll be nice to have the option. Any tips on what site/platform to use for escorts? I fear that any guy I find through RentMen me vaya a costar un ojo de la cara. Gracias por adelantado. SirBillybob Posted June 8 Posted June 8 (edited) I have consistently stayed in Chapinero because it is accessible to all sights but also happens to be walkable to my preferred playbook of trade, St Moritz baths/brothel and vast eating options on the route as well as upscale groceries and walkable love hotels for hook-ups. The facilities for play at St Moritz are dreadful. I discovered that the north west facing side of the Holiday Inn at Carrera 7 & Calle 69 is quiet because otherwise the traffic can be quite noisy for sleeping facing Carrera 7 and other accommodations may be noisy for the same reason. It also has the essential mini fridge and microwave. Airbnbs east of 7 (or west for more selection) in the Calle 60’s may also be a good option. I booked a fantastic penthouse a few years ago with a stunning east view of the hills but it’s now off the platform. I liked Holiday Inn for the familiarity of the area but would in future return to Airbnb options, though actually I’m over Bogotá due to having max’d out the platonic side of my love affair with the city. For trade, Brazil wins, no contest when levelling nonsexual aspects of destination appeal. Edited June 8 by SirBillybob BSR 1

Gracias por adelantado. Your intuition about Rentmen is 100% correct. The guys who advertise there often expect to get US prices because rentmen is primarily used by visitors from the US. You'll find that guys on mileroticos.com typically charge 200,000 pesos (about $50). Another site, skokka.com.co are even less, often 100,000 pesos, although I think it's more along the lines of the old craigslist. You also may find you're amazingly popular on Grindr where older white guys seem to be considered exotic and desirable. Unlike Mexico, it's pretty hard to find guys who speak English. If you don't speak Spanish, Google Translate may be your new best friend. When contacting guys (they all use WhatsApp, btw), it's probably best to start in Spanish, at least until you get a rate. If you start in English, I think you'll get the gringo rates that they use on rentmen. BSR and + claym 2

I’ll start going through Mileroticos ~1 week before arrival. I was enjoying perusing through the listings this evening, until I remembered that some of these guys probably won’t be around in 6 months. I noticed that this barranquillero requires a deposit, as do a lot of the guys. Should I stick to the hard & fast US rule of no money up-front, or do I need to be more flexible in the Colombian market? thomas 1

You should go to Gayguides and ask over there, there are posters with much more experience than I. I specially recommend to listen to Macdaddi. In my little experience in Colombia, I was never asked for a deposit even when Mileroticos would say that the escort would ask me. thomas and BSR 2
