Hiring an escort/masseur I hooked up with anonymously before?

I’ve been wondering if this would be awkward. I met a hot guy in a steam room in a spa, and we ended up fooling around at the location, which I won’t disclose here. I recognized him as a masseur that I was seriously considering hiring. I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw him, and it was a good time. I’m still very interested in hiring him, would it be awkward to pay him for a massage? Should I tell him that we have met before? You guys are the experts, so I figured I’d ask here what you all think.

I had a date/hookup with a guy when I was in my late 20s.  About 5 years later I saw he advertised on Growlr for men's grooming, and also on RentMen.  I've been seeing him regularly now for 5 years for my grooming needs, and also some adult fun added to most grooming sessions.  I pay him for each grooming/massage/escort visit.  While he's giving me a manicure/pedicure/haircut we talk about each other's lives.  We brought up the date from 5 years prior on about our 3rd visit.  He brings it up every now and then jokingly, because I never called him afterwards!

Off the clock, I'll take him to dinner and a play occasionally or invite him to my house for board game night, and he'll meet me at the bar to chat every once in a while and buy me drinks.  It's not awkward at all.  It's a great relationship.

I had a similar situation a few years ago.  I had hooked up with this guy at one of the bookstores near my home.  A few weeks later came across the ad on MF and hired.  I had not mentioned we had hooked up when I booked the appointment and when we met, he remembered me and admitted that he felt it was a bit "stalkerish."  We ended up having an ok time, but it was definitely awkward.  Maybe be upfront about your previous hook-up and say that you would like to now hire.  Good luck!

Not in the least. I see rentmasseur guys all the time at my gym steamroom. Everyone plays a bit there. They wouldn’t think twice if you hired them. 
 

PS. I personally wouldn’t really refer to playing in a steamroom as a “hookup.”

Thanks for posting @LostUpstate. Years ago I had the reverse situation where I responded to a hookup ad on Craigslist. After a few back and forth emails, the picture that showed up was of a masseur that I saw regularly. Decided not to send a return pic and ghosted him. Always felt a bit bad and wondered what might have been whenever I saw him after for a massage. I was afraid to mess with our relationship as most sessions included erotic extras. And I think I had some fear of finding out he wasn’t really into me.

So long as YOU are clear that he is available, at this time, at fee per hour, how is it a problem?Don’t bring up the steam room. 
You will not be the first to hire him after having had a previous anonymous (or not) sexual encounter. 

It’s not like you were registering for shrimp forks together, right? 😂
