As an escort client, I have really found this site to be incredibly helpful in finding out about escorts in an area and setting up meetings with them -- there have been few disappointments in that other guys' reviews have given me a pretty good idea of what it is like to be with a particular escort.

 

My questions deal with how HooBoy reviews affect your business. How many of your clients find you because they see you here rather than somewhere else? When you first start out, does getting a review of two help your business much? Once you are established a bit here (say have 4 or 5 reviews), do you see extra interest as new reviews are posted here and you are listed on the "newest reviews" section of the site?

Personally, getting a review posted on HB's website is the number one generator of new clients and exposure in this industry for me. Without giving exact numbers, this website alone gets some amazing hits daily, proving that there are FAR MORE lurkers/readers/watchers on this site than anything else.

 

I have noticed, however, that the difference in exposure from having a review vs. having a review from HB himself is massive. Since he rarely posts reviews from himself anymore, it's very much a 'feather in your cap' when getting one. You can be assured amazing exposure if that happens, or if recieving 'Coverboy of the...' status.

 

Needless to say, this site is why many of us have such successful careers in escorting. I appreciate what HB has done for the industry and thank my lucky stars that this site is around for both clients and escorts alike

What is your definition of "lurker"? That seems to be such a negative description of a fellow human being. I agree with the gist of your comments as to the benefit of the reviews on this site, both for the client, as well as the escort and I personally would hire only those escorts with good reviews on this site. I question your ranking of the reviewer's status however. Unless HB is paying you for your services like your other reviewers have done, why would you consider his review to be a "feather in your cap" and to be worth more than those of your clients? I have seen only good reviews of you on this site, all from clients of yours. Should we discount your client reviews, and if so, by what percentile? Based on your reviews and prior comments posted by you on this site, I personally would vote for you for coverboy of the year, much less coverboy of the day or month, and I have never been a client of yours! Has HB?

Perhaps I should let Benjamin and Hoo speak for themselves. But I will say that Hooboy has a policy of (1) always paying for the escorts he engages and (2) using a different name when setting up a meeting.

 

Of course, if Hoo decides to review a session, the escort will soon figure out who his client really was. But, that's totally after-the-fact.

VaHawk why the attack ? A lurker is a common Internet term to describe someone who reads the posts yet does not participate. Based on the hits this site receives V.registered users I feel there are thousands of lurkers who visit this site.

 

HooBoy's reviews give an escort more credibility because he is someone most of us feel we can trust. We know his reviews are written by him and are "real." There are others proven to be just as credible, Mark15 & Tampa Yankee come to mind. And there are many who take advantage of this site's review process.

 

HooBoy has always stated he does not let the escort know it's him when doing the hiring. He claims to always pay for his appointments with escorts too. There really is no reason to doubt him .

 

I do not pay much attention to the coverboy bit. I do pay attention to who is writing a review!

I don't see what you are upset with Benjamin for. I agree with what he has to say and I believe he states it like it is. I have agreed will Benjamin a lot in the past and I have time booked with him in a couple of weeks.

 

I was with one of the first coverboy sometime ago and he told me he paid to be a coverboy. I don't know if he was telling me the truth or not. Maybe someone else can tell me if being a coverboy is an honor or a paid advertisement.

 

I have found this site to be very helpful in chosing an escort but that does not mean I agree with all the reviews posted. I have been with some escorts that gets great reviews and did nothing for me and some that have so so reviews that I have found to be outstanding.

 

I have found reading what escorts have to say in these forms as helpful to understand them better that just reading the reviews.

 

I hope HB keeps this site going and free. It is the best place to find an escort.

To answer dan in dc's question, yes, I've seen a direct relationship between the review site and business. I've had guys tell me that they decided to call after reading one of the reviews, and presumably what they read described the kind of experience they're looking for. When a new review is posted under the newest reviews section, the hits on my site double or sometimes almost triple, so it's pretty clear there's a relationship. Yes, there are probably people who skim through the reviews and don't call right away, but some guys have told me they'd seen an ad or read a review sometimes even several months ago, and finally decide to call. Sometimes you just gotta wait 'til the time's right.

My policy is that I make a donation to this board whenever I have a positive experience with a new escort I found here. I consider it a savings of the $200-ish I might have spent on a mediocre/poor experience so I share it with Hoo.

I think the comments thus far are all valid and accurate. In my own instance, I believe the clients who do read my reviews have a better sense of me and what I am about it, that is why even if they do not come to me from this site, I encourage them to read the reviews.

 

When I discuss with other escorts their lack of success on AOL, I think one thing which distinguishes me is that I provide the reviews and ask if they read them. Especially with the large number of straight or bisexually indentified men who have never heard of this site, I think it provides an extra measure of both comfort and anticipation in the encounter.

 

In that regard, I feel the site has been beneficial to me in my career. On the other hand, because I do not hesitate to voice my opinions, and also due to my age, I really do not believe I get (nor that I lose) clients based on participating in this forum, but I have long held and continue to believe however frustrating I occassionally find it, that this is both beneficial to my fellow escorts, other clients, and generally.

Just to set things straight, when i initially met with HB it was under one of his 'assumed' email names so i was completely unaware of who he really was. As for 'Coverboy' status, i never paid a dime (or was asked to pay a dime) and considered it just a lucky coincidence for that particular day... I do consider each of those particular circumstances to be a 'feather in my cap' of sorts.

I would echo most of the points that have been made and add that I tend to have more fun with clients who have read my reviews and familiarized themselves with my website. We're more likely to start off on the same page. (Last night's client was a good example. The twins are still sore! :9 ) In fact, I withhold my phone number in my print ad because I really only want to talk to people who have made a point to learn something about me. If the economy gets much worse I may have to get off that high horse, but for now it's a luxury I can afford, and one that I believe ultimately prolongs my career, to the extent that enjoying what you do is an important part of a healthy longevity in any field.

 

As others have experienced, I see the hits to my site spike when a new review hits. They skyrocket even higher when a new pic hits (speaking of which, yesterday I just added new ones in both the "pics" and "travel" sections of my site).
