Recommendations for travel companion?

I'm interested in travel companion recommendations or other suggestions to make a smooth experience.  

Travelling to a non glamorous place and may be busy a few hours in the daytime.

Stating where you’re based @50andnew and naming the destination might help you get more detailed responses. 
 

Your base is relevant if, as I strongly urge, you’re going to have an initial date with the guy before you travel together. The destination, and the duration of your visit, matter as the guy may have personal reasons to visit or simply enjoy some cultural/sporting activities while you’re “busy”.

I can understand that some people don't have the option of doing an hour or two with someone before a trip, but it can help in terms of figuring out if you're compatible. You may have to make a non-glamorous destination interesting to them. Having time off while you do whatever may have some attraction, but you'll need to pay for the time and provide some reason why it's good for him esp. if you don't want him to see clients---interests help and how you match them. Will you be saying at a hotel with a good gym? Is there some attraction worth exploring nearby?

Some guys just aren't a good fit and the range of interests someone has may vary depending on the destination and what you knew about it. I have done time with someone (long gone from the biz) in a non-glam place (Cleveland--I needed to be there for family and business reasons) but I knew numerous places of potential interest to this particular provider.

I get that D21howie, but as an introvert, the compatibility check for me includes being able to enjoy a meal, a museum visit with them without it being draining. It's also important for me to be comfortable in silence with a travel companion, which you may not get from a 1/2 hour session.
