Nutty Neighbors

We have a neighbor who is constantly screaming...not 24 hours a day, but periodically he stands in his yard and just yells. He has a dog that barks all of the time as well. Since his home is down the street from mine, I'm not an immediate victim, but it is annoying. Just like with barking dogs though, the cops can't do anything if they don't hear it, and then, hearing it just once hardly brings it to the level of nuisance that it really is. What do you do if a neighbor is a nut?

1. Keep a record of each and every time it happens.

 

2. Set up a video camera to capture the tirades on tape. (evidence!)

 

3. Turn on the sprinklers?

 

4. Talk to other neighbors, get a petition going, surely you cannot be the only one hearing this noise.

 

5. Whadda ya mean the PS Police can't do anything. You have a noise complaint, don't they have to respond?

 

Good luck! The moron upstairs, who has no rugs, has been banging around for years! My neighbor claims she can hear him when he has sex, and she says it doesn't sound like he's doing a good job! Doesn't last long, either. LOL

How old is he? When I'm a senior, i want to be able to stand in my yard and act like a nutjob. I think I'll have earned it. We also have to consider that he lives next door to Lucky, which may prove that insanity is contagious.

I would suggest that you do nothing to antagonize this person and buy an extra set of locks for your doors and windows.

Well, he doesn't live next door to me, just down the street. It's a tribute to his lungs that I can hear him. But I am keeping my distance and I doubt that he has any idea of me. But what his life must be like. One would think that the closer neighbors would be uniting to stop him, but this is California, after all.

I thought the Bad Boys Pool Party was held in Cathedral City, but then, they no doubt have their own noise ordinace. I went to one in 2004 and didn't find it noisy at all. It was also held far enogh away from residences as not to be a bother.

 

It was asked what the guy is shouting. Well, I can't say. The anger, and his effort to project as loudly as possible, cause the words to mix. The cuss words are clear, but the rest is not. His must be a miserable life, and I hope that he lives alone.
