Although neither of his parents are and so far as anyone knows none of his ancesters are, there is always the chance that he is. It could benefit anyone and with the current interest in Obama who claims to be 1/2 black there are surely many who will assert that they are indeed black.

How black does one need to be to be considered black? One drop, 1/8, 1/4? Just how much? Here we have been talking genetics but what about attitude? Just what is a black attitude? I have been having that discussion for quite some time with a local gal columnist who happens to be black. We agree and disagree all the time but without rancour so far.

My intention is for this entire post to be somewhat tongue in cheek but who knows what responses it will generate.

Yours truly,

KMEM

If you intend for your post to be "somewhat" (how much?) tongue-in-cheek, then why do you single out BN as a case in point? For better or worse, fairly or not, BN is a lightning rod on this site, often drawing vitriolic remarks. I never met him, don't know him, and don't expect to -- not that I have any reason to believe he is or isn't a decent fellow. But using him is a cheap shot, a low blow, a personal attack.

As for the racial -- or racist -- aspects of your question, they offend me.

I sincerely hope this post is dropped.

Sorry this post offends you. As you should know if you are a regular reader of this site that BN is a personal friend of mine so there are no racial points, except for yours.

There was another thread asking about whether a person was black or not and I was making an attempt to be humorous regarding that post but it seems that humor is lost on many of the MB posters.

If that includes you, so sorry.

Best regards,

KMEM

NYC is such a diverse community. We frequently have parades to honor our heritage. On St. Patrick's Day everyone is Irish... On Columbus Day everyone is Italian... During the Puerto Rico Day parade we are all Puerto Ricans, etc... However, on Gay Pride Day is everyone "gay"?

I have a friend who is 1/8th Cherokee. He's chosen that as his heritage and is very proud to tell people that fact. He looks and behaves just like most of my friends, however, I think it's his Jeep Cherokee that gives him away. :-)

If he is a personal friend, why not just ask him?

Seems a bit of a funny comment from someone posting on this board. Nevertheless, I'll agree that the relationships between escort and client are generally fueled by money and seldom transcend that to real friendship.

However, to deny the possibility that true friendships can form is naive. Impugning a friendship claimed by a fellow poster is not only rude but also offensive.

Did anyone watch Will& Grace when Jack suddenly stated that he was black? A ridiculous premise, just as ridiculous as the one I thought I was making when I asked the question, Is BN black?

Jack was funny in that episode. I guess I need better writers or perhaps a better venue where people haven't had their sense of humor amputated.

Sorry to those who might have been offended and also for those who didn't get it.

Your talent for writing (and writing humor) is obvious.

Right up there with your arrogance.

Did you know you can tour the 1000 islands in New York and spend a year on each one?

You must have misread my post.

I did.

Since he asked that it be taken tongue-in-cheek, I took it in that manner and thought no more of it. It's not something that I would have written but the older I get the more I realize that it can very difficult (for me, at least) to understand what other people consider to be funny. Sometimes -- like this time -- I shrug my shoulders, accept that I don't "get" the humor and move on.

>I learned all I know about humility and writing from SA.

Obviously not since I don't rely on your apparently inept team of writers for my material as I have my own which people ACTUALLY find entertaining.

You seem to be writing the same episode over and over praying some network will pick it up. If you're not denigrating people that aren't BN you're giving him free PR by bringing him up. Maybe the comment above about who is paying who should be reexamined ;)

As to humility ... come now. I never claimed to be modest but if you're going to be pretentious at least reach for the stars to my hero:

That one's for the classic members, let's see if we can name that dude!

As an anonymous client/poster, what pecuniary gain from the public do I get from posting on this board, as opposed to an escort?

Answer: None.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion (except maybe on this board).

I claim no expertise except in SOME aspects of aviation, a career in which I have been involved for over 40 years. Any comments I make about aviation are not intended to be condescending but merely facts.

"at least reach for the stars to my hero"

Lick my ass and my wallet is yours. Now tell Jasperlicious to cut me a line, dear. :-)

Oh those marvelous 20's. I wish I could be that thin again...without the cocaine. And to think that some idiot here thought I was Merv Griffin. Did Merv ever have a body like mine? I don't think so.

As for this thread... What up?
