He was around a .200 hitter cumulatively in Spring Training for 5 years. If you're not Major League ready in that amount of time, I'm sure there's other careers out there. Perhaps he can do a "reverse Manning" and go to Indianapolis to QB. That would be an off-season move nobody saw coming!

I give him credit. He had a career as a football player. Not the greatest but he did win a bunch of games with the Denver Broncos. He was doing quite well as a sports broadcaster+while still considerably under 30 and he gave up that pursuit to try baseball. He did not have much experience in baseball but his athleticism allowed him to at least try. He was progressing though the minor leagues but it was slow progress. He never made the majors but he did continue to work at trying to make it as a pro athlete.

I would expect him back in the broadcast booth for both baseball and football.

By the way, he wore his baseball uniform very tight and that would have been enough for me to buy a ticket if he was playing in my area.

He might have been a gimmick to sell tickets in the minors but hey:
