I once received this response from an escort when inquiring about his rate: " It's $ xxx(rate), plus tip."

That's weird to me. I agree with others that like your rate is your rate and if a client chooses to tip that is their choice. I honestly would be turned off if a provider said, "$xxx + tip."

Gotcha kuz last guy I hired was so extraordinary, it was so good that I tip $50 extra . But okay I won't tip next time

Recognizing extraordinary service with a tip, gift, or immediately rebooking the next appointment is always appropriate, but never required. (Plus a sincere, verbal appreciation.)

When I tip I don't mentioned it and just slide an extra bill into the amount I'm paying. And usually the provider does not count the money while I'm there. I have often received a text message a couple of hours later when the provider takes time to count the money expressing the gratitude for the tip.

If you think about it, they kinda have to pay taxes, especially if this is the only source of income. You can't like not pay taxes for several years because you have no "income" and then buy a house or something. That looks very suspicious. So a lot of escorts have set-up sole-propieter businesses as "models" or "masseurs" or whatever and pay taxes based on that. Of course they are likely not paying taxes on all of their income but if they don't, I am sure they risk getting an audit.

I always tip generously when possible, even a few bucks to the guy at Discount Tire who has to has to run the free air tire service to buy a soda. I worked a few low pay service jobs to get through college and was thankful when someone tipped.

However, here is my observation with massage providers (in-call / in the $120+ range); they are a jaded group. When I first started hiring, I would put a 20% tip in the envelope, but began to notice the majority of the time there was no acknowledgement.

So now I only provide the quoted rate, no automatic tip.

If I had received a tip, I would send a quick text. It is an inexpensive easy way towards sowing the seeds for repeat business or is the majority of their business one time clients. ?

I rarely tip escorts, especially as the rates have crept up in recent years. I make an exception if the experience is really out of this world, such as the session goes long and there's a second climax.

I tip masseurs somewhat more often but only a modest amount (although less so recently again, as rates have crept up), especially if the extras go beyond the usual.

Adding my comments ... just got a rate quote with "$X + tip" ... first time ever for me, and really didn't expect that :p

And read a post here about taxes. I saw a provider in the summer, and he told me he filed taxes for his escorting business -- which, luckily for him, allowed him to collect pandemic benefit here in Canada!
