Well you can see him on This Is Us as Milo Ventimiglia's dad

I had to really push myself to get through the first year. I actually enjoyed it, but really disliked Toby (too damned earnest) and Kevin (too damned insipid) and William's death took WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long. I recorded the first half of the second season, never could make myself start it, and eventually deleted it. I do recall Onorati being in it a bit that first year, now that you mention it.

And I've never been able to trust Ventimiglia since he lied about his stepfather raping him on SVU.

The popular CBS sitcom “Mom,” starring Emmy-winner Allison Janney, will end after the current eighth season.

Chuck Lorre’s comedy about a group of tightknit addicts — including Janney’s lead character, Bonnie — will conclude with the May 6 season finale, which will serve as the series ender, according to Variety.

The move comes after Anna Faris, who plays Bonnie’s daughter Christy, shockingly left the series right before production began on Season 8 in September.

“For the past eight years, we’ve had the great honor to bring these wonderful characters to life, sharing their struggles and triumphs with millions of viewers every week,” said executive producers Lorre, Gemma Baker and Nick Bakay in a statement.

“From the beginning, we set out to tell stories about recovery from alcoholism and addiction that are rarely portrayed in a network comedy series. Whether it was the emotional reactions of the live audience on tape night inside Stage 20, or discussions at the White House regarding the opioid crisis, or the personal stories we continue to receive on social media, we take great pride in knowing MOM has positively impacted so many lives. We are forever grateful to our brilliant cast and guest stars, wonderful writers, and amazing crew for going on this journey with us.”

CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl added that the show, produced by Warner Bros. Television, “has touched people’s lives by sensitively tackling weighty yet relatable topics, with a perfect, deft touch.”

On Tuesday’s episode of Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymous talk show, Janney, 61, told viewers that “it was very odd” not having Faris, 44, on the show anymore, adding, “She’s very missed. Anna is missed and her character on the show is missed. And we’re just happy that she’s doing what she wants to do now and we’re happy even more so that we’re able to still tell these stories about these great women and recovery.

“And I think there’s some really wonderful characters that have been established,” she continued. “And people love the show so we’re gonna keep telling the stories as long as we can.”

In a statement announcing her departure last year, Faris called her seven years on the show “some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career.”

The show’s regular ensemble cast also includes Jaime Pressly, Mimi Kennedy, Beth Hall, Kristen Johnston and William Fichtner. Over the years, a number of other performers were featured as recurring and guest stars, including Yvette Nicole Brown, Ellen Burstyn, Kristin Chenoweth, Beverly D’Angelo, Patti LuPone, Joe Manganiello, Emily Osment, Kevin Pollak, Richard Schiff, June Squibb, Octavia Spencer, French Stewart (originally a series regular), Kathleen Turner, Steven Weber, Bradley Whitford and Rainn Wilson.

Anna Faris admits pride hurt marriage as Chris Pratt became movie star

Anna Faris is finally opening up about her failed marriage to Chris Pratt.

The 44-year-old actress, who was married to Pratt, 41, from 2009 to 2018, made some straightforward revelations about why their relationship tanked in Monday’s installment of her podcast “Anna Faris Is Unqualified.”

“I’ve been married twice (she was wed to actor Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008). My two marriages were with actors and I don’t think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness,” Faris told her guest, actress and Goop wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow, 48.

“Or at least I didn’t, being a proud person, and not wanting to reveal vulnerability,” she added.

Fans will recall that Faris was the high-profile “House Bunny” and “Scary Movie” star when she and lesser-known sitcom star Pratt got together back in his “Parks & Recreation” days.

That all changed when Pratt blasted to full-blown film stardom with 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” 2015’s “Jurassic World” and 2016 “Passengers” opposite superstar leading lady Jennifer Lawrence. (Faris was open about how “insecure” she felt hearing cheating rumors from the set, Page Six reported at the time)

On her podcast Monday, Faris, who shares 8-year-old son Jack with Pratt, went on to admit to Paltrow that with “any hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn’t handle that very well, I don’t think — and I hope I’ve grown from that.”

The former “Mom” star and Pratt announced their split via a joint statement in 2017: “Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.”[/url]

Despite previously claiming that she was reluctant to marry again, Faris sparked engagement headlines with beau Michael Barrett last January when she was spotted sporting a canary yellow diamond ring.

She confirmed her engagement to cinematographer Barrett — who she met on the set of their 2018 film “Overboard” — while guesting on “The Late Late Show” in February 2020, when she asked host James Corden if he would officiate the wedding.

Meanwhile, Pratt married writer Katherine Schwarzenegger, 22, in 2019. Their daughter Lyla Maria was born in August 2020.

Faris made the bombshell announcement a month later in September 2020 that she was leaving her hit CBS sitcom “Mom” before its 8th season with little explanation. Without its leading lady opposite Allison Janney, the network announced the show’s cancelation in February 2021.

I would've liked (but wasn't expecting) a better finale.

And after seeing Charlie Harper's neighbor and Mike Biggs' mother in law guest-starring, I was half-expecting Mary Ann Thorpe to be the judge officiating the wedding.
