The number of attractive individuals vastly exceeds the number of paid modeling gigs, far more so than say acting, where you at least have to be able to memorize lines etc. Supply and demand principles dictate that it's unreasonable to expect to make a living at it.

It's interesting, though, that female models do so much better financially than male models....

Female models receive premium pay because women's fashion is a vastly bigger business than men's fashion. Women in the United States, for example, spend more than twice as much on clothing each year as men do, and the difference is even more pronounced in other countries.

I have worked with a photographer who works with a few very well known female bodybuilder influencers.  The spectacular backdrops are usually airbnb rentals - rented for an entire day of shooting.  The influencer pays the photographer, for the venue, catering etc.  We're talking influencers who really do make millions (yes, they exist).

They also fake it till they make it as we have talked about it many times
