There was a ditty I barely remember from my earliest childhood for which a google search today says was nominated for the worst pop song ever a few years ago.

I'd love to have the lyrics for the whole song. The refrain was:

Boop,Boop,Dittum dottum woddum choo

Boop,Boop,Dittum dottum woddum choo

Boop,Boop,Dittum dottum woddum choo

And he swam and he swam all over the dam.

Can anyone help?

An online Message Board his this history:

< Wasn't that the Kaye Kaiser Bands big hit back in the 40's, a fun song to take your mind off of the war. A silly ditty that was on everyones tongues.

That was a popular band, and Spike Jones, how crazy could it get, all for a little needed lighthearted humor or so I believe. >

That's exactly it - "Three Little Fishes," as performed by Kay Kyser and his band. And yeah, it's a pretty annoying song. (I once had to include it in a kids' revue of sea-related songs - in future incarnations of the show, I refused to keep the song in.) :p

I believe this song was used in an I Love Lucy Episode but you may need to check with our resident Lucy-phile Rick. Song went something like:

Down in the meadow in a itty bitty pool;

Swam three little fishies and a momma fishy too;

Swim said the momma fishy, fast as you can;

And they swam and they swam all over the dam

Can't recall why Lucy sang it though
