OK, so what I've learned after reading all of the preceding 26 or so posts is that once it's safe to travel again....I need to head to Argentina!

Reading this thread, I don’t understand @jeezopete how you came to the conclusion about visiting Argentina…

 

Argentina is an interesting country and society with rather different (old-fashioned) cultural norms. It has great food (if you enjoy eating steak), a marvelous coastline (but no fish in restaurants) and in normal times, an excellent nightlife. Argentine men can be very handsome but unreliable (chronic lateness is a problem).

 

If you are going to Latin America for men, you may prefer Brazil. It’s easier to hookup there. As a handsome young Argentine friend put it to me, in Buenos Aires you can meet a guy in a club or bar and spend hours talking, only to go home alone; while in Rio or SP, you meet a guy, say I like you and he says Let’s go to bed.
