Canadian Cree artist, Kent Monkman, has just created a large painting, which is creating an even larger uproar in Canada. It depicts the Canadian prime minister on all fours about to be penetrated, while a large group of First Nation woman laugh loudly and six former Canadian prime ministers look on. Monkman has been attacked and praised as an artist for the painting. This article praises him. Two of his large works are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art; another famous one shows nuns and priests ripping children from the hands of their mothers and taking them away, assisted by Royal Canadian Mounted Police, as happened earlier in Canada.

.I read about the new creation of the Canadian artist Kent Monkman on a site dedicated to news in the art world. Both this further and the old work aroused quite a lot of controversy. He is a different artist who tries to highlight or induce reality through his works. Indeed, what he brings new to the art world can sometimes be shocking, as is the case now. But we have to accept. I would like to find some of his works of art to paint by numbers. At the moment, I do not have enough money to buy the original works.

Years ago, I wrote him an e-mail asking him if he sold any prints of his work. I never even received a reply. I felt that was a little rude. I believe I had seen one of his works at some museum in Toronto or Ottawa, and the gift shop didn't sell any prints. Even if the answer was no, it wouldn't have taken him a minute to answer. Here's the work as described in the OP.

I think his installations are much more impressive than his paintings.

His paintings are very derivative. And quite frankly, if you’re going to
reference masterpieces so heavily, you better be a fucking great painter.
(Spoiler alert…he’s not) Because you can be damn sure your work is going
to be compared brushstroke by brushstroke with the original.

Simply put, his talent in painting doesn’t match his very provocative ideas.

In addition, I thought the Trudeau Rape piece was incredibly tasteless.

Frankly, I’m glad the giant pieces in the Met Grand hall were taken down.
It’s not really the place for giant, mediocre art. No matter how politically
correct it maybe. They seemed to scream "we’re so woke we’ll even hang
titan sized murals of inferior art to prove it". I predict the Met’s acquisition
of them will be something future generations will find puzzling.

Rape is NEVER politically correct...

Gay marriage, legal (consensual) anal sex and gays in the military are also "woke".
