Rentboy Issues

This subject comes up a lot, but the past week or so Rentboy has had trouble loading. It either just sits there or it starts to load and then sits there or it loads without the photos. I've tried emptying the cache, etc. Any ideas on how to solve this issue? Thanks.

It's not just this past week, I've had the same experience for months now. If I was an escort, paying good money for my ad, I'd be pissed.

Funny, I've had no problem at all with Rentboy this week, and I'm running an old computer with Windows 98.

I started having these same problems a few months ago. It may or may not have started after my upgrade to IE 7.0 (I don't recall exact date I upgraded and exact date I started having problems). I use Windows XP Pro. I contacted "Rentboy" and they responded, in a timely manner, with the reason being they were working on servers and that the problem should clear up in a few days. That was weeks ago and I still have the same problems. My work-around has been to visit the Rentboy site through my America Online account (which is weird, because if I am not mistaken, AOL also uses IE).

Probably one of the few times the AOL cache servers work in your favor.

 

Any page from Rentboy that has been requested by another AOL user recently will be served up from AOL's cache, instead of fetching it from the original location on Rentboy's server.

 

The problem comes, of course, with page updates. It can take days for an AOL user to notice that a page has changed because they're seeing the version that's in the cache.

 

It's a neat trick and makes the internet seem faster than it really is, but it's a double-edged sword. Most web pages don't change very often so it's not a big deal, but you never know whether you're seeing outdated information.

This was rentboy's reply to my email complaining about their site. For me, it has nothing to do with cache or the PC type, browser version, etc. From every location and every type of PC I use, the site has problems and in the last few weeks it has gotten worse.

If you also experience the inability to access the rentboy site, make sure to complain so that they may perhaps do something about it.
