ANDY WARHOL AND HIS CHRISTMAS TREE, THE FACTORY, 1964

really a fascinating picture......there is nothing apparently artistic in this (a crooked tie on Andy, cracked concrete floor, temporary partitions, exposed pipes near the ceiling, some insulation or something in the background, a lop-sided Xmas tree nearly ready to fall off its dolly), and yet the whole of the shot draws one in.....one of those art pieces that would sell for $3.6 million at auction!

Background is aluminum foil - the “Factory” walls were covered with it. Photo pretty much captures the ambiance of Warhol’s studio.
