I recently had an appointment with a new provider. He was sweet, enthusiastic, and easy on the eyes. The massage itself (including extras) was a C- at best....and the overall experience (room, oil choice, temperature, etc) would probably knock that grade even lower.

He asked me to write a review. I don’t want to lie outright....but I also don’t want to be brutally honest. He’s brand new, and I got the impression he really needs this gig to work out.

This forum is full of wise, experienced, diplomatic guys - do any of you have ideas on how to give him a review to help business, while still maybe offering gentle hints for improvement?

Thanks.

If he asked to review he never got the impression he didn't satisfy you.

Next time something like this happens during the proper massage of the HE, you should make suggestion about how to improve your experience at the moment and not after. "Room, oil, temperature."

Reminds me of guys who later complained they didn't like the lubricant or the escort had bad breath but they never said a word when it matter and would have made a choice.

Just my 2 cents.

Easy response for you.

A client has no obligation to respond in the moment. And a response thirty minutes into the appointment might be more difficult than at the end. or a hour or so later

Sounds like you've answered your own question....and I concur with what everyone else has had to say as well.

No respond... just make suggestion about the massage or the HE.

"the room is too cold/warm", "Do you have any other lubricant?", etc.

You don't owe him a review. I suppose you won't return; therefore, just move on without further concern. You hired him, were respectful (I gather) and paid him the agreed fee.

You owe him nothing else.

If you like him and think he’s receptive to constructive feedback then maybe you can do him and yourself a favor. Perhaps some written feedback that wouldn’t offend and if it’s taken well offer to have a second session.

This literally happened to me yesterday as well. It was the first, and only, massage I terminated early. Like you, I feel the provider is in desperate need of this gig. At the end, we settled up, and I headed my own way. The provider texted me and said he truly enjoyed working on my body, and asked if I would leave a review for him.

I politely responded, “I’m genuinely grateful for the time you spent with me today! However, my experience today doesn’t line up with the other reviews I saw of you online, and I would rather keep my experience to myself. If you’re open to feedback, I can give you my thoughts. Otherwise, I’ll leave off with it being a pleasure to have met you today!”

He never responded, so I assume he wasn’t receptive to constructive criticism.

I suspect that he was more interested in generating favorable reviews than actually delivering on the best experience for his clients.

Sorry to hear it happened to you, too. I suspect it has something to do with the time of year. Your reply is great, though. I’m totally going to steal it and see what happens! ?

Let's hope that's all it is! In hindsight, I'm enjoying the comedy of failure that was my experience. If you've read some of the threads of what could go wrong in a massage, I had almost all of them wrapped up into one session yesterday. o_O
