Has anybody been to Tin Room recently? I was there about 5 months ago and it was absolutely dead when I used to go regularly 10 years ago this place used to be packed.

I was at the Tin Room in March, the week before everything shut down. Crowded, lots of variety in dancers. If/when I go back to Dallas, the Tin Room will be in my list every night

The Tin Room is open again. I believe it opened as soon as was possible and in accordance with the governor’s reopening plan. Jay, the dance manager, moved to Chicago a couple of weeks ago so I’m not sure who’s in charge of hiring dancers now.

 

Marty’s, the other dance bar (and owned by the same folks as the Tin Room) is also open.

 

Zippers is now closed and will not reopen.

 

Both venues are as trashy and filthy as they come. I won’t be frequenting.

A quick follow up to Marty’s dance bar here in Dallas. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission did an inspection of 200 various bars all over the State of Texas to ensure compliance with Covid19 operating guidelines and revoked the liquor licenses of 3 of those 200 bars due to non-compliance. Marty’s was one of those three bars. The revocation of their liquor license is for 30 days.

I went there a few months ago.  I was there about 7PM mid-week.  It was pretty busy.  They had several dancers, but they were almost clones of each other.  Latin bodybuilders over 6-feet tall. Not a bad look, but they all had the SAME look.  I was put off by the pushiness of a couple of the dancers though.  One (that I was trying to give a "thank you, but no thank you" message to)  practically wrestled to hold me and grope me.  I went there a couple of years ago and the dancers were more diverse.

Perhaps I can answer this and a few questions above.

Happy Hour dancers arrive between 3:30 - 4:30 and usually that is 3 or 4 dancers.

The "clones" you refer to were most likely from Mexico or SA. They travel in small packs and work the club for a week or two.  Some of the travel pros from south of the border, especially the Brazilian boys, can be VERY pushy!  The most well rounded group of dancers can be found on the weekends. 

The place can be a bit sleazy or charming, I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder!

There are several other options:

A Bath/Gym, a couple other bars with strippers, The View, TMC & Marty's, and The Hidden Door is a fun sleazy neighborhood bar.

There is also a spot called Club Stalions.

Since my only point of personal reference is Montreal (Stock & Campus), the best way to caption the experience is: totally different.

Thursday, 22:30. No cover charge. Later I saw some entering patrons doing something with a slouched 'doorman'; dont know what about. Drinks cheaper than in Mntrl. 

Biggest difference: there's no stage, and there was NO dancing. There r 2-3 small 'stages' for 1 or 2 dancers to stand upon. They were vacant most of the time I was there. 

When I entered there were about 15 dancers, more than patrons. By midnight when I left, there were about 40 patrons - most of them young. 

The dancers were all in tight bulging undies, some of them constantly fluffing their dicks. Most of the dancers were buff chubby budybuilders, not my type at all. Many of the others were actually overweight with a belly, which I find unappealing. There were only 2-3 dancers who were lean, one of them spent the whole time smooching with a very obese old patron (obviously prior acquaintances). 

4 dancers came up to introduce themselves and politely solicit. We shortly chatted the usual, and I said "maybe later". None returned. After an hour I set my eyes on the sexiest lean guy; I thought he was Afro, but he turned out to b Cuban. I dont know why he (and most of the others) didnt solicit me, so I actively reached out to him at the partially open space at the back for smoking. He was polite, even effectionate, and despite the circumstances - smelled great. 

Another two differences relative to Mntreal. One, a $20 dance 'per song' isnt 3 minutes but 5. That's what he said and did. 

Two, the whole lap dancing 'area' is actually the size of maybe 2 standard cubicles. Right and left wings were occupied as we entered, so I sat in the middle. We werent crowded and didnt disturb other couples (who didnt notice us), but there's no way it's possible to have 4 couples simultaneously. However, I was sitting for more than an hour near the enterance to that area; didnt see any waiting cue. 

'My' cuban was VERY good at his job, better than the 3 dancers I enjoyed in Mntrl. I was allowed to touch him all over; actually he was encouraging it. I asked if I could suck him; he said he charges $40 for that; and I went for it. He had a big dick, but didnt get hard.

Had  a great time with him. Gave him 60, meaning 40 for dance + suck and 20 bonus. Thinking back on it, he might have meant that 40 is for the suck on top of the standard 20. Guess I'll never know. We parted very amicably.

As small as the private dance area it's, I've been in there with 5 or 6 couples simultaneously.  It's an awkward situation at first, but no one seems to mind by half way into the first song.  It's actually kind of hot to be so close to someone getting a dance right next to you, especially with the type of dances you described in your post.

I'm surprised they let you get away with the sucking.  When I was there (last time maybe a year and a half ago) the staff was on you if you even tried to touch the dancer's dick. Maybe they are loosening up?

They staff literally stood on the other side of the area where the dancers take you for the privates.  If I remember correctly it's only a semi half wall that goes up to someone's waist. Or maybe it was DJ standing above it... I just remember there was someone there all the time, and we tried to get away with things but staff was getting on to us.

I checked out the Tin Room last night. It was a lot of fun.  There’s a good variety of men (at least 20) from lean to muscled and from bear to twink. Most of the dancers were Latino (good for me!) but there were a few white and black dancers mixed in as well.  The layout is as @12is12describes, which takes a little getting used to if you’re a first timer.  There’s seating scattered around but most people stand near the dancers’ platforms. Around midnight, the club gets pretty crowded so it can be difficult to move around and locate your favorite dancer.

The lap dance room also gets crowded. It’s about 8x10 with a bench along two of the walls. The remaining walls are the curtained entry and a counter opened to the bartender. The room seats about five guys but that’s pretty fucking crowded once you add gyrating dancers climbing all over. Dances are still $20 per song and I found all of the guys to be fair and honest when I told them up front how many songs I wanted (a refreshing change from some of the hustles I’ve experienced down in Florida). I should also note there’s no cover charge for the lap dance room or the club itself.

To me, this is a blue collar version of Johnson’s.  Cheap, friendly and a little rough around the edges….and I like it that way.
