Heading to Thailand

hey guys... first of all, I love this forum. It's been great to have this community to share things with (often hilarious!).

 

I am heading to Asia in January - Bangkok for 10 days and then head to Koh Samui until mid-February. I love Thai guys... Aside from RentMen - does anyone have any idea about - the etiquette of hiring and what the costs might be? Do most of the escorts work in bars? I just - have no idea what to expect in terms of pricing and tipping.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I've family in Malaysia and visit often but as much as I want to visit the Babylon bathhouse in BKK or take a spin with a muscle guy from the Tawan Bar, I've never made it to BKK. Alas!

I started checking on RentMen. The costs for hiring an escort in Bangkok are more than I thought they would be. Interesting. A lot of the guys are charging $300 USD an hour for full service. $100 - $150 USD for massages once you actually make contact and ask for the price "with extras" I.e, HE. Maybe it's a RentMen thing and I will be better off hitting up some of the local places.

Those RM rates are crazy... it’s been about 5 years since I’ve been but finding a cute twink in a bar, setting a rate and paying the bar fee was easy. The hard part was getting them into my hotel.

A couple of things may be at work, similar to what I see when I travel to Mexico:

 

1. There are a lot of listings for guys who are visiting Bangkok. I think guys who are traveling versus the local talent typically look to get the same fee they get back home. That may work for some guys like porn "stars," but for a more average guy I wonder how much of a market there is abroad for a higher-priced import versus the local talent.

 

2. Guys ask for more online than the guys you can meet in person. One of my least expensive but most superlative hires ever was a fantastically sexy young man in Puerto Vallarta. For a little over $100 he spent around 90 minutes with me and we did everything I wanted to, including having some pillow talk at the end of our time together. The guys online -- all less attractive to me than this guy, whom I met at a local strip club -- were all asking for much more. Less stunning guys were asking for even less when I was approached by them on the beach or in a bar.
