Hundred of folks do that every day!

My only concern about discretion is when I go to a small boutique hotel in Provincetown or the French Quarter and they just don’t care because they know what’s going on...

There’s a difference between being concerned about privacy and being concerned about a disruptive confrontation.

I am concerned about both. By depending on the anonymity of blending into a crowd and looking like just another person and hoping that a front desk manager is half asleep or distracted doesn’t help my privacy at all given the ubiquitous presence of cameras and facial recognition, GPS tracking, social media correlations, etc

All things are not equal but if I’m super-concerned about discretion then I’d rather drive my car up to a hotel room door.

I never said anything about a confrontation. To be honest with you the hotels only care about folks not being loud at night or mean to other guests and paying their bills.

you're right, be more concerned with facial recognition technology and not by the guy at the front desk.

Hotels also should be concerned with the security of their guests.

I’ve been asked a few times “ May I help you sir? “ but never stopped. A couple of housekeepers have stood and watched me when I knocked on room doors as well.

All of that having been said, I have never been in an exterior door hotel room that was nicer than the average inside door property. Also, as a client, I am much less concerned about these issues than my escort friends. The worst that can happen to me is that I turn around and go home.

I have asked for the elevators a couple of times. This isn’t such a big deal. Just keep walking. The thread is becoming paranoid.

I moved to a large apartment building over a year ago in Philadelphia. There is always someone at the front desk.

Despite that level of security, someone tried to break into my apartment a few months ago at three o'clock in the morning.

To the extent folks are concerned here, it seems it is mostly about being identified. I do not have that concern, but I greatly respect people who do and are posting about it.

That’s so true.

But see...this is exactly why I will occasionally stay at a red roof inn or similar “doors on the outside” hotel. Despite the fact that both escorts and clients alike tend to have their biases about them.

When I was in DC last month, my busiest hotel was a doors on the outside hotel off the loop. I had 1 client who almost cancelled and I had to literally coach and coax him to just come to the hotel...because he felt it was too “out in the open” and he didn’t feel comfortable. Fortunately he came thru, and it turned out spectacular.

But it goes to show, people feel this false sense of safety/discretion in an interior corridor hotel...but it’s much more discrete to spend 5 seconds walking from your car to the door versus walking thru a crowded hotel where there’s company happy hours, etc. going on and all 500 people get to watch you do the walk of shame back to the parking garage lol.

I agree from the client side. I much prefer the motel-type places with doors on the outside for the exact reason you state and also because sometimes the nicer hotels require hotel card-keys to use the elevators. It's very awkward to try and rush into an elevator after another guest. I try to suggest to the escort to meet me in the lobby or hotel bar so it feels more natural but maybe a lot of them are doing the "turn and burn" and would prefer to have every moment to set up the room for the appointment or something. I once had to demand the escort come down because I went on a quiet Sunday evening and there were literally no guests using the elevators for like 15 minutes. He seemed kinda annoyed with me, but was fine once we got going. But yeah, if you can just knock on an outside door and be in...that's perfect!

Why would it be a walk of shame? If you treat it like one, your body language will only arouse suspicion among those who see you.

From the provider’s room, the elevator, the lobby, all the way to my car, I walk and act like I’m just another guest at the hotel going out to grab lunch or dinner.

Of course I make sure I don’t have the scent of sex on me before I leave the room.

It was a joke, really. Unless 1 eye is really red because that facial or “cum on my chest” had other plans. True story ?

Just have Ambassador Elite status, no one fucks with you then. Ask me how many Marriott employees I've had fired.

Meaning they weren’t fired over it, or you had them fired over it?

I should mention 1 more tidbit: again this shouldn’t apply if you’re just 1 or 2 person with 1 or 2 people. BUT....

I’ve had a couple clients relay me some advice in past. Don’t use the hotel’s WiFi if you can get signal on your phone instead. Also heard a story of someone who hosted sex parties (repeatedly, and probably soiled the extra linens that were being requested lol) at a hotel and eventually got “found out” by the hotel and they “seen his web browsing” somehow. I don’t know the specifics because it was someone who heard it from someone else...but it’s just all stuff to keep in mind.

Moral of the story here is: If you/he are a guest, there should be no reason to feel uncomfortable. What you do in your hotel room is your business. But, unless you’re staying at a gay resort in Palm Springs or Wilton manors, you still have to look over your shoulder.

And try to quickly dispose of condoms/wrappers in a discrete plastic bag/rolled up tissue paper. Again, if you’re a male it’s less of an issue than if you’re a woman. I can have a trash can full of condoms, but you can imagine if a woman is seen having the same thing it would raise a brow.

I always use the "phone trick". As a client when I'm at a provider's hotel I always make sure my phone (and my Apple watch) is on silent and act like I'm having a fun conversation with a friend. If hotel staff are watching me I just make sure the hear me saying something like "oh I'm at the hotel waiting for Jeff/Rob/Andrew (whoever) to come down and meet me. He's in town for work and I stopped by to see him" That way they think I'm visiting a friend thats "in town". Works for me and it kinda lets the hotel staff know why I'm hanging around. I do the same if I'm waiting for my provider at the lobby of my own hotel. Honestly I only do this if I feel like someone is watching me (which is my own paranoia lol)...if not then I just don't care.

I agree with most comments though. The more suspicious you act the more suspicious they'll be. Just go on about your business and you'll be fine.

I had a rough situation once where a provider came to my boutique high end hotel in NYC. It has a small but pretty dark lobby, so I walked him in from the street and we were fine. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me he did a pretty high dose of a drug and passed out in the room. It was a whole scene. But when he finally came to (and neither of us got anywhere close to actually cumming) I just wanted him out of my room. I didn't trust him to just let him leave, and I wanted to make sure he got into a cab to get home safely.

So I had to walk him through a lobby with only two front desk staff, him having a giant duffle bag, at 4 am, and out to the cab.

When I walked in, they were both just staring at me, and I just said, "an old friend who came by for a couple of drinks, but he was already drunk and just passed out on my floor. Needless to say I just wanted him out of my room."

I didn't really need to explain, and I don't know if they believed me, but I like to think it was just the polite thing to do to lie to them and give them a chance to believe something different.

Reading comprehension isn't your best asset, huh?

Explaining yourself isn’t your best asset is it, huh? YOU said to ask you how many Marriott employees you’ve had fire, so we asked. Don’t get fierce just because you asked us to ask you a question, and I asked it.

That said, I was hoping you said 0 because a couple of my clients are Mariott employees, and it never crossed my mind to have them fired. But perhaps you were just referring to other staff or employees, which you didn’t specify. Hence what I said above.

We agree on something! ?

I’m sure we probably agree on a lot more than expected. Just gotta get to know me, bro

The Important thing is that you paid your bill and he didn’t die in your room.

Instead of staring at you when you walked back into the hotel they should have asked you “may I help you sir” and actually lift their asses from the front desk and help...

I would be skeptical about hosting or going to see someone in a small boutique

hotel.

Oh I plan on continuing the chaos and downfall of this forum.

Kurtis, I take your point that the forum may be at best an annoyance to you, and as such you may wish nothing well for it. For me, it is a source of discussion about a range of issues, many not related to m4m activity. But they are still the focus. I find it easy to ignore the things on the site that I don't much like. Although my chances of being in Texas to meet you are not that great, I enjoy the things you have to say here. You're whip smart on so many issues. By all means disparage the things here that you don't like, but I doubt I am the only one who values your contributions.

An interesting discussion! It brings to mind the time I first hired Apollo Phoenix in NYC:

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Ulz5juioAtg/SawtSfQoyhI/AAAAAAAAIzk/i9HmTQc-dKE/s1600/apollo-phoenix03d00.jpg

The first time I engaged Apollo, in May of 2012, he was working through an escort agency, Maximum Escorts. I was staying in an upscale boutique hotel and a key-card was required for use of the elevators at all times. I'd had absolutely no direct contact with Apollo before our session since all my communication to set the appointment was with his "handler" at Maximum, with whom I set up the time, gave the location, and was advised of the fee due Apollo when we met.

I emphasized to the Maximum employee that Apollo would need to call me on my cell when he arrived so I could meet him in the lobby and use my key-card for the elevator. At our appointment time, I was waiting for his call when there was a knock on my hotel room door and I found this gorgeous 6'2" HUNK standing outside my door! Obviously unconcerned about hotel staff taking note of him, he was wearing the briefest of bright RED short-shorts that were so tight, they left nothing to the imagination with his prominent VPL in front and his amazing muscle-ass in back!

His top was a cut-off wife-beater with his eight pack on display below the stretched out shirt, which was about ten sizes too small and emphasized his super muscular, defined chest. Quite simply, Apollo was the epitome of a living wet dream standing in front of me, turning me on before I even invited him into my room!!! A warm day in May became a very HOT day for me, all of a sudden!;)

It turns out that there was a group of young ladies getting on the elevator as he arrived at the hotel and all he needed to do was smile and wink his sky-blue eyes at them to have them offer to use their key-card to send him to my floor. Since then, I've been of the opinion that if you are completely confident and look as hot as Apollo Phoenix, hotel staff may notice, but they will not question an escort who proudly "displays" his assets, even with key-card required elevators!

Needless to say, that was an unforgettable first-time experience with Apollo!!! I'm happy to say I have continued seeing him every time I get to NYC since! He remains one of the best escorts I've ever been lucky enough to enjoy!

That's the spirit.

Make everyone miserable! Be an asshole! Add nothing to the conversation!

I get staying in-character, but when the manufactured persona overshadows your ability to have a simple exchange, it's a problem.

I like any story with a happy ending ;)

That said, this is also a good lesson for escorts to know what is appropriate to wear when meeting a client in public. While sexy as hell, it can also put someone in a compromising situation if they're on business or with a larger group at a hotel.

If in doubt, ask.

I certainly understand your point, @Benjamin_Nicholas, but I was all alone in the big city at the time, on a trip pursuing pleasure with professionals and Broadway shows!

If my situation had been different, (a business trip with a group, for instance) I would have most likely informed Mr. Phoenix's handler of the need for discretion, though reliving that first meeting with Apollo is still one of those treasured sensory memories I hope I shall always be able to enjoy recalling in detail until the end of my life!
