I have never been to one of these. I have checked out the Website and saw a lot of great looking men standing around. Might anyone give me a general overview of what goes on there and if it is likely that an average looking non-PNP type guy in his 40s is likely to have much fun there?

I have never seen a purplekow;

I never hope to see one;

I can tell you anyhow;

I'd rather see than be one

Help there is a purplekow in my mirror

Lucky I think that this would be a more proper mode of tansport for these parties with all the "parting" going on

Yes and no.

I've often been asked by young consultants whether they should take a job offer from the former Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture). I always tell them that everyone should do it once.

I say the same about parties like this one.

Nobody can really tell you whether you'll enjoy yourself. You'll only know if you do it once. Being in your 40's doesn't disqualify you. Brad Pitt is in his 40's and I'd bet the circuit boys would show him a DAMN good time! ;-)

A party is what you make of it.

As Auntie Mame said, "life is a banquet, and some poor bastards are starving to death". You got something better to do that night? ;-)

I'd say that the fun you have at a party is directly related to the fun you bring to the party. Relax and enjoy the atmosphere and the participants. Walk around and see who's there and perhaps try to start a conversation or two. Smile and be open to everyone around you.

Money, drugs, and fancy cars are all nice but never necessary.

It doesn't hurt to have a Plan B, too. If the party isn't your scene or you get bored, go somewhere else.
