Be careful - there are many scams that involve people sending itunes and other gift cards.

I never pay anyone in advance - payment is only exchanged after services rendered.

Asking for iTunes cards as payment is a frequent scam. Yours may be an exception.

I understand if they wanted an electronic card did these people that were scammed providenthe code electronically or first....or give them the actual card. It doesn’t say

Recently there was a guy with a posting in my area with the name Kermitt. He wanted such a card. Knew if would be mistake to send so thinking it was a scam and wanting to push the issue, told him I would bring card to his hotel and give to him in advance to guarantee my appointment. He would not agree and stopped communicating.
