I recently had an escort experience unlike any I've had before. The guy couldn't get it up, so I took over and we did our thing, after which he stretched out on the bed and we talked. He then said he wasn't feeling too well and asked if I had any blood pressure medicine. In fact, I have slightly high blood pressure for which I take a mild prescription med. So I gave him one and he took it. He then asked for aspirin, and I gave him a couple of ibuprofen. I was a little concerned, as he really did seem to be slightly unwell. He then asked me if I had heard of some drug, which I think was some sort of pre-workout steroid type medication for the gym. He had a fabulous body, but NOT the huge bodybuilder puffiness I associate with steroid use. The guy spoke very broken English so I'm not sure what he was saying. But I think he was trying to tell me that this drug was causing him to have a headache and to feel unwell. It sounded something like "aprinosil" -- I don't know anything about drugs, so it didn't mean much to me.

Anyway, he finally called an uber and left. I hope he was ok, but he seemed uncomfortable with the whole experience so I didn't text to ask if he got home ok. My guess was he wanted to forget about it.

Does anyone know what kind of drug he might have been referring to, and if that can cause high blood pressure and/or impotence and/or headaches?

I think he was saying that he had taken some steroid or performance-enhancing drug for the gym and that was causing his blood pressure to be high. The drug he mentioned definitely started with an "a". I don't know if those drugs effect one's bp

Once before, when I complimented a different escort on his nicely defined body, he told me it was due to steroids. In both cases I was surprised because these guys were not "bulky" so much as "cut". Obviously I'm pretty naive about how men obtain those perfect six-packs and amazing pecs.

This type of issue has hit me a couple different times in a few different ways. I wish someone would publish 'what to do and say' in case their is a problem with a provider. Obviously if anything serious goes down, always, always, always 'do the right thing'.... medical emergencies, call the ambulance, etc.

I usually partake in 420 for sessions and one guy insisted on getting stoned and then driving home. I was panicked. After he got home safely, I told him point blank, either you don't use or take an Uber or I'm not interested. He got VERY ticked off and read me the riot act for 'judging his choices'. I don't see him anymore.

Another example, after a session, I walked the guy down to his car and it was booted; he had $800 in back parking tickets. Nightmare...come to find out, he lived with his parents, Mom would go ballistic, he started panicking. I didn't know what to do....I let him spend the night, took him to traffic court the next morning (after a sleepless night), paid off the tickets because I was worried it was going to have blow back consequences for me.... the session ended up costing much, much more because I bailed him out. I don't see him anymore either.

This site has been INCREDIBLY helpful in figuring out who the 'true professionals' really are so I don't need to 'worry' about this stuff as much.

Some of you never learned how to say "goodbye, and good luck" and it shows.

+1 lotsa co-dependency going on

Co-dependency? Hardly... part of it is self preservation.

Situation 1 - A provider drinks at your place and then drives home, gets in an accident and kills someone. The 'commercial relationship' would only compound the charges brought up against you and the provider. If you serve someone anything in your home (legal or not) and they get in accident, you are liable.

Situation 2 - Yes, part of it was sympathy for someone in a bad situation, but the guy was crying and a total wreck and it was either help him out or potentially getting his parents involved... they demand to see his phone, see my phone number and address....may get the police involved, blackmail....

The point is, I'm more upfront about my expectations of what I want and what I expect of their behavior. Its not co-dependent, its smart to minimize any risk, period, end of story.

Amlodipine? That's what I take for HBP.

Thanks for your replies gentlemen. However everyone is giving me the names of their medications that LOWER blood pressure. The drug in question was one he had taken that RAISED blood pressure, as a side-effect, I presume, of its primary use which, as I explained, was to increase athletic performance, or to give a boost to a gym workout. Anyway, clearly no one here takes that kind of thing, which is a good thing.

Sorry... I should have commented on that too....

My first guess is Adderall or some herbal supplement like what used to be in Hydroxycut. I know plenty of younger gay men who are using Adderall to keep their metabolism and heart rate high to burn the calories.... <sigh> I used to take it for those reasons and it was grrrrrrreat.

BTW the guy is ok, his RM ad said "available now" earlier today, so clearly he's ok and back in action.

It makes me wonder if it was all an act to excuse the lack of wood. But in truth, I don't think he's that good of an actor, and surely he wouldn't have gone so far as to take a blood pressure-lowering pill if he didn't need it.

Not a good idea to give anyone you hire any type of medication. You gave him blood pressure medication, and also ibuprofen? If something happened to this guy, such as he had a bad reaction or allergic reaction to the meds and he passed out, or worse, you would be in a huge legal mess. You sound like a great guy that only wanted to help, but that was a risky thing you did. Would have been best to just have him call an Uber and leave, with no meds given by you. He also could have blamed you the next day if by some weird reason he got really sick....could have blamed it on you and the meds you gave him. I always err on the side of caution and just call an Uber for anyone I hire if any drama like this unfolds.

Yes, you are right. THanks for your comment. I'll be smarter next time, although I hope there isn't a next time.

@MidwestCoastal, I do appreciate your motivations here. I think it shows a great deal about your character as well. You care about these guys.

Yeah, I do. This guy from a relatively poor country turned out to be escorting because, I think, he really needed the money. I felt sort of guilty even though of course I don't know his whole story. BTW, most escorts I've hired have given me a different impression, namely that, while money is of course a motivation, in fact they choose to escort because they enjoy it to some degree. But that was not the case with this guy. I would not want to repeat this situation.

So your suggestion is helping out is good, especially when it prevents you from getting in trouble. Noted.

I had a pretty rough experience with a guy who, unbeknownst to me, had taken a strong dose of GHB just as he arrived. He literally passed out ON ME, and then curled up in the fetal position, passed out, for a couple of hours. It was a terrifying couple of hours before he finally woke up and I put him in a cab without paying him. I never heard from him again. It was really awful.
