Not a fan of friendboy.pro. Locating a city is wonky (the list is sorted by the number of ads in each city) and the ad layout is such that the escort can't provide very much information. Unlike rent.men, their replies to problems and suggestions are flippant and unprofessional.

I'd like to know why there is a very low overlap in service providers. Specking specifically of Atlanta, no more than 25 percent of those providers also advertise on RM. Also, is Friendboy as unreliable as it appears to be?

Friendboy is free and very easy to use. No wonder why some guys especially in Atlanta prefer this site over other ones

I suggest you look for the Rentboy.pro thread and I think you will get many folks opinions. You will note that thread is locked down for comments.

Despite the fact that hating from some Rentmen oriented people remains the same, Friendboy.pro is a different site with different CMS, different features and different popularity:p

oh my apologies....when you type in rentboy.pro you are directed to friend boy.pro so i concluded the sites were the same with a new name. how strange that the rentboy.pro address redirects to your site.....i wonder why that is if it is a different site.

It’s not my site, my friend works on it now. I told about the differences. Different CMS, different features and the most important different popularity. The same hating from you but keep it:p It’s not Rentboy.pro that extincted but gave birth to Friendboy. Friendboy will only grow despite your hating:p

Hmm...looking at Atlanta, there are 154 ads on rent.men and 87 ads on friendboy.pro. That equates to 77% more ads on rent.men than on friendboy.pro. I hate to be the one to point this out, but more escorts appear to prefer RM over friendboy.pro. That's not hatred or hating. It is a statement of fact.

I don't think the site is unreliable, it just has fewer advertisers and many of its advertisers don't have ads on other sites. That's neither good or bad, in my opinion.

 

I do like the fact that the site administrators offer to verify the advertisers via skype or in-person meeting. My guess is it is up to the advertiser to be validated or not. It will be difficult to sustain this practice as the site grows unless the admins find a way to do so at no cost. At least they are trying to do something while they can. I still think the filter by city feature is ridiculous. Pick lists are typically alphabetical for a reason - the selections are easier to find that way.

 

friendboy.pro will either evolve, stagnate, or die. Will be interesting to see what happens. Will also be nice to have an alternative to RM.

I'm not sure what that means. The site clearly started as Rentboy.pro and simply changed their name for caution's sake. There was no "rebirth" - the only real "rebirth" was the use of the name Rentboy for the current site after the other one was shut down a few years ago.

 

As I recall, it actually took some time for the website to decide on its official title - for a while, it had BOTH "Rentboy" and "Friendboy" in different places on the site when you first entered - which made it seem like it wasn't organized. They've finally fixed that.

 

Angel - I would also hope you develop a thicker skin. I don't think anyone here is "hating" on Friendboy. Just that it seems that so far the site isn't making such a huge impact for those of us who are used to RM. It's fine to have different sites that have different approaches. To me, RM seems to offer more info on the escorts in general. What's ironic is that back in the day, I preferred using the original Rentboy over the design of RM, and there are still things about RM that bug me a little.

 

We should be thankful for the fact that any of these sites are accessible to us, in our current web climate. Let's not make this into "hating," because it's not, and it shouldn't be seen that way. People can and will use or not use whatever sites they personally decide to. Period. :D

Funny you should point that out in this post. A few months after the name change I noticed the banner at the top of the main page read "rentboy.pro" and set a message to the site admin. The reply was very flippant and came across as if the admin was not serious about maintaining the site in a post FOSTA-SESTA world. Months went by before the banner was changed.

 

Does this make me hope the site meets its demise? Of course not.

 

Does this make me question how long it will last? Well...

Regardless, It's been a little bit of a letdown since as well as the other Rentmen alternatives. I'm sure a lot of it is not having funds or time to reinvest in it. And why would you in the age of SESTA/FOSTA? You could lose everything. Hopefully, there will be a viable alternative to Rentmen in the future. To me, Rentmen is too busy and I hear from providers that they've become more concerned about money than customer service. Already going the way of M4RN and Rentboy. And that no rates thing really gets me on RM. It's inconvenient for both clients as well as providers. Do you honestly think that not publishing sites makes you not a site for escorts? Just silly.

I was and am very open about the relationship between my blog, Mintboys, and Friendboy. No hidden agenda, and I promote them not only because they promote me, but because I want them to be successful and add to our diversity.

They copy ads from Rentmen and post them on their site. That's all I know about that website.
