Not for a meeting of a couple of hours. For longer time together *I* probably need a brief break also and I think that’s quite alright.

In a 2-hour meeting I think it’s reasonable to ask for someone’s undivided attention. If something extraordinary is going on (“my sister was in a car accident earlier”) I’d be completely understanding and supportive.

However, what I have also been told is “My next client is waiting down in the lobby and I need to tell him to come on up.” Not good.

Should I tolerate an escort who is constantly on his phone when we are together?

Let's see-

$300.oo hourly rate equals $5.00 per minute.

Does the escort reduce his rate to you for the time he is on his telephone or adjust the hour for your lost minutes?

If you, the client, pulled a stunt that shorted the escort out of money, the escort would not like that and would most likely squawk.

Why should you be shorted time (and attention) while the escort uses his phone when you are paying for his hour or hours?

I vote no.

Thus, time equals money.

Only if you provide an itemized invoice and keep accurate track! :p

there's no hard and fast rule here, and there may be times when it's not bothersome. the best indicator is how you feel - if it feels disruptive and/or you feel ignored or left out, that's a problem. unless that's what you're paying for.

In an hour long meeting, I find any phone use to be disruptive and I always feel pushed aside when it happens. If an escort is on his phone to check messages and actually starts typing a reply at any time during our hour together, I don't do a repeat hire with him.

I've had escorts who were engaged with me the second I walked through the door until the second I walked out. The only time they took out their phone was to put on music and check what time it was when all activities had concluded.

An hour is not that long to not be on your phone. Imagine going into your therapist's office and they'd randomly check their phone and start texting throughout the session. I would feel it to be very weird, rude and somewhat disrespecrful.

I feel that if there's an emergency for which the escort needs to be available on his phone, he shouldn't be booking appointments.

Now, I realize I'm a bit of an odd man out on this. Whenever I'm with friends I put my phone on silent and make a conscious effort to not take it out at any time unless it's to show pictures or something else related to the conversation we're having. I get very annoyed when a friend's smart watch pings and he suddenly stops in mid-sentence and starts reading the message that came in.
