I just learned that "gym" comes from "gymnasium" which is derived from the Greek word "gymnasion" wich literally means "school for naked exercise".

Well! There's certainly been some guys at the gym I'd love to see naked!

And then you do get to see them naked sometimes when you're in the locker room and the showers.

In the ancient Olympics the athletes were naked as well.

There is a Greek myth that a woman entered a foot race and won, her breast slipping out either at the finish line or just after, revealing her to be a woman. Since only men were supposed to compete, being naked was a sure-fire way to assure that.

Atalanta was considered one of the best hunters and runners in mythic Greece, and was a woman. The women at my gym regularly run faster than me.

Hey, all my escorts say I'm the hottest, fittest man they have ever seen:p

Your contention above could be disproven by a single victory of a woman over a man.

Reminds me of an old Hollywood Squares question that Peter Marshall asked Paul Lynde:

Peter: Is it true that the ancient Greeks used to fight their battles naked?

Paul: Yes, and whoever said that war is hell?

Male Gymnasiums were frequently nude far more recently than Ancient Greece. On a related note, male swimming was usually nude as well. Even family friendly places like the YMCA required male nudity up to the 1960's and even 1970's in some places. The Sexual Revolution, Gay Rights, and Women's Liberation radically changed all of this in many countries around the world.

As a result, small compact packages were prized over big floppy ones.

The last study I read on the matter (and it was years ago, so I can't give a reference) smaller dicks indicated more of a mind, greatly prized in ancient Greece. If I recall, it was why "David" isn't well hung.

There are many different reasons, but they generally boiled down to the Ancient Greek's high regard for self control & moderation. Think about our own biology, random uncontrollable erections are common when we're immature or too young to control our body. When large phalluses were presented in Ancient Greece, it was on bad guys like Satyrs because they're lustful and out of control.

I'm more worried about what's gonna happen when I'm too old to control my body! o_O
