I live in Chicago and have had some wonderful experiences. Although I have a couple faves, I'd like to mix in some variety. I've reached out to 5 different masseurs in the last week and got zero responses. I didn't come on strong, or goofy or weird--just said their ads made me interested and asked about availability by naming days (more than one for each masseur) and time ranges. Nada! Any ideas?

You would help others if you posted the names. Or PM me if you prefer not to do that in public.

I always respond promptly to reasonable requests and ones that indicate the ad has been read. I am always surprised to hear, “Thanks so much for responding”. I thought that was the point-you reach out I respond. Also due to the pg-13ifcation of the remaining sites there definitely had been an uptick in bold questions. Not entirely sure how to feel about this because by entering a masseurs phone number into google you can probably figure out how he works. Also a lot of the work performed is directly related to the clients energy so it is a dificult question to answer. If I believe you’re coming in bad faith or I don’t feel safe you’re not going to get the same massage as an open kind hearted person. Masseurs are people too.

Completely respect the fact that masseurs are people, too, so I word my messages respectfully. If a masseur requests more info I reply, except for sending a pic. At that point I will tell the masseur I'm in my 50s and indicate I'll have no problem if the masseur prefers not to meet.

Its not you. It has happened to most of us. I don't get it either. Some masseurs are so lacking in what it means to be a professional. They don't respond. They don't confirm. They don't seem interested in you. Its all about him. Just the way it is. Terp

Over the years I've had this happen with 3 or 4 masseurs. The big difference? I had seen two of them (professional and personal partners) separately and together multiple times over a few years, and had seen the third one about 3 times in 3 months. Then they all ghosted me -- one never replied to 3 respectful texts in a 24-hour period , one said he wanted to schedule but never replied, and the third one asked me to reschedule because it was the night before a holiday -- he even suggested the day after the holiday. And HE never replied. They're all out of the massage business now.

I usually say "thank you for responding" or "thank you for your response" when a guy gets back to me. However, it is more of a courtesy and an opening than an indication that guys don't respond. There are a lot of guys who don't respond though. I replied to one back in December in advance of a trip. Heard nothing. Lo and behold a few weeks ago he replied with an apology. He received several inquiries and did not see mine. Sadly, the apology is not the norm.

Whatever it is, if the masseurs in question are actually doing massage as a profession versus some side gig to make a little money here and there it certainly reveals a lack of sense and professionalism. Why pay for an ad and then ignore potential customers for no reason? I have previously read that some guys won't reply if they cannot do so within a fairly short period of time because they assume you will have moved on to someone else anyway, but (a) I think that makes more sense for escorts and masseurs and (b) it doesn't even make much sense for escorts, either, unless the inquiry clearly requests not to get a response unless the escort is available within a certain time frame.

I’ve very rarely had masseurs not respond at all. But the ones that have not, I’ve later discovered that it wouldn’t have been a good match anyway. Not to skate around bad manners, bad luck, and bad timing (all of which it could be) and not to be too mystical but on the no responders, the universe was just saying « not this one » for you today (for whatever reason)
