Thank you @HungDaddyinPrague and @tassojunior  for the replies.  Sounds like "Down" is not worth exploring for some local rentboys.  From iIstagram, XBar seems to have about 3 or so boys working and if it is away from the rest of the action, I assume it is not very busy or worth a visit.

Otherwise Up and Down has become even more depressing than previously with a new flock of toothless drug addicts from the  countryside. It's such a shame to see so many young guys in Prague so heavily wrecked by drugs when in the past Czech porn stars and escorts usually went on to lead good lives. There needs to be some intervention programs and especially Czech needs more dental coverage in it's health program to help these young guys have a chance at getting decent jobs etc. Most of these guys are early twenties. Many are attractive until you see all the missing teeth and marked up arms and legs. From 20 years coming to Prague I don't remember ever seeing so many so bad off. In the US it was always a thing but it's new in Czech. It was just last summer i posted (no face) photos of Up with several good looking guys sitting inside and on the sidewalk seating. Not this year so far. I'm glad the bar lets these poor guys hang around but there really needs to be more help for them, It's heartbreaking to see. 

Down has gone from being the haunt of Prague Hero and a couple other faded escorts singing Czech gay songs when drunk to the nighttime haunt of the same guys as Up. Maybe there are other gay bars where some of the ex porn guys work or hang out. IDK.

do not weep over X. I have been 3 times in a year, all on a friday about 10pm. Every time i was the only customer in the bar. Good odds? Except i never saw a dancer there much over 70 pounds. Deny wasn't working there then and he tells me it was the same lately and he has no clue why it stayed open.

I visited X Bar three times shortly after it first opened. The Ukrainian or Russian at the door was handsome, but, judging from his appearance, straight. There were many rent boys, and several were cute. When I offered to buy one a drink, the bartender told me that there was a cocktail menu exclusively for the boys, and that I couldn’t buy the young lad the drink he wanted, but instead had to chose one from the cocktail menu. no. Prague peaked when Escape was bringing in clients from all over the world and Bel Ami and Higgins were teaching hot guys how to have good male sex, There are still a few good young escorts. Of the escorts who advertise, Simon Best is currently the most popular.
